Right in the centre of BA with restaurants, major attractions and shopping on its doorstep. The subway is a short walk away- don't be deterred from using the excellent public transit either! Our room was clean and well equipped although the wifi service could have been better and hopefully they are going to replace the worn carpets. They have an excellent restaurant on site and the free breakfast in the morning is a bonus. We couldn't believe our rate - $70.00 a night including breakfast for a really good hotel! The rooms at the back of the hotel, over looking the pool, are very quiet. The staff are all professional and friendly. We would happily stay here again.

Room Tip: Pick one overlooking the pool at the back.

The Claridge Hotel provided myself and my wife with a very comfortable and pleasant six day stay in Buenos Aires. They provided a plentiful hot breakfast and perhaps the best steak dinner we had while in B.A. The pictures in the bar area showed many famous who's-who. The rooms were always clean, and the staff was always pleasant and helpful. The location was safe and central to everything, one half block to Florida Street and one block to Lavalle street, which both are pedestrian only streets. From the hotel , it was only a short and inexpensive taxi ride to the other popular areas of San Telmo, Boca, Recoleta, Palermo,Puerto Madero,.... The open computers in the business center was a big plus, as I was still dealing with problems from a hotel in Santiago.

Room Tip: Don't know about other rooms. The room that we had was excellent.

this hotel is situated in an excellent location for exploring central Buenos Aires. Subway station is a short 4 block walk and the main shopping district "Florida Street" is 2 minutes around the corner. Our room rate included a great breakfast and the restaurant for dinner served excellent food at a good price. Outdoor pool area is lovely although the pool water is not heated and the gym contained decent equipment. Staff were helpful and friendly and all front desk staff spoke English.

Room Tip: Choose a room that faces the pool area and not the street. Corner rooms are a little larger. Room...

Very central tourist location, half a block off Florida, the popular pedestrian shopping street; walk another 2 blocks down Florida to "Galleries Pacifico," a huge mall with foodcourt; within 5 blocks of 4 subway stops + Plaza San Martin; also walking distance to Plaza de Mayo & Puerto Madera. This is a classy old building, in good overall condition, with fitness room, outdoor pool, a wonderful breakfast buffet, & nice lounge. Comfortable, well equipped rooms with good WiFi + BBC & CNN English news channels. Yes, there's a small sex shop across the street, but we'd hardly have noticed it if it hadn't been mentioned by other reviewers. One elevator was broken & the sidewalk needs fixing, but these weren't problems. Very good value at internet price of U$D90 or 95, but only a spin doctor or marketing genius could explain why the hotel charges 50% more for non-internet reservations !?!?

Room Tip: Our 3rd floor room at the rear had no view, but was very quiet & comfortable.

Once upon a time this Hotel must have been up there with the best but alas not now.The property needs a lot of money invested in it to bring it up to standard, it claims 5 stars but I would give it no more than 2.The staff were friendly and helpful but are up against a very poorly maintained building, within the first hour of arriving the maintenance man came to the room 3 times to fix broken door handles and room safe. The local area is very dirty with lots of rubbish in the street and lots of sex shops. Not a great place to stay especially for female travellers .Next time in BA I will stay in Palermo or Recoleta districts.

The Claridge is a good hotel, one that some years ago would've been a five star hotel, but that time has knocked down a couple of notches. The rooms are nice enough, though felt a bit stuffy and dated.

We had one problem, where our room had a strong chemical smell-turns out they were renovating the bathroom next door. Fortunately we were moved quickly, so that was much appreciated.

Besides that, the hotel has a decent location, though I felt Calle Florida and around was overrated. There is a sex shop across the street, but so what? There's also a Subway across the street, and one of Buenos Aires' high-end malls 2 blocks away.

We really enjoyed ourselves here. The rooms are not quite 5 star quality, but they are comfortable and clean.

The pool is crisp and clean, the lunch we ordered at the pool area was tasty and served promptly.

The bar is cool and old school and the restaurant menu is delicious. The lamb is awesome.

The location is nice and central. The area is a little sketchy at night, but that's the case through the whole centro. The sex shop across the road didn't bother us, is has nothing to do with the hotel, or the quality of service provided.
