Owner description: Architectural landmarks in the city’s oldest neighborhood have been restored, and this revitalized area is distinctly artistic, with cafes, antique shops, cobblestone streets and lots of artists and dancers.

A great outdoor fair with antiques and local artisan products on Sunday. Some of buildings are picturesque. There are lots antique stores, small restaurants, cafés, and even a Starbucks.

A longside the great market is an old restaurant that sells amazing empanads ! The actual restaurant does not look like it has changed since the 30's -

Visited San Telmo area on a friday when the area is quiet. Checked out the old buildings that are full of character and history. Revisited San Telmo on a Sunday when the area is transformed into a hive of activity during market day. A must to do for visitors to B.A.

Loved the area. Cobble stone streets & little hills similar to streets of Europe. Charming area indeed. Beware at night. Not for the tourist to roam around. Very safe during daytime.

San Telmo on Sundays has gotten even more crowded over the 20+ years I've been coming to Buenos Aires but still worth a visit. The central market is a bit claustrophobic but once you venture down the side streets to visit the small antique shops the atmosphere improves dramatically. Plenty of restaurants in the area.
