Owner description: Architectural landmarks in the city’s oldest neighborhood have been restored, and this revitalized area is distinctly artistic, with cafes, antique shops, cobblestone streets and lots of artists and dancers.

“Great people watching and trinket shopping”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 15, 2013

We visited San Telmo twice, once to explore the antique shops and once to see the market. Calle Defensa is a narrow cobbled street which leads you into the heart of the area. It has some lovely old architecture and lots of interesting stores and arcades.

“Fantastic”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 14, 2013

We went here a number of times. The Sunday market is very interesting, a mile of booths, all very differnt. We went to the antique mall one day and back one evening for a great dinner at DesNivel.

“Interesting area of Buenos Aires”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 14, 2013

Old fashioned area, cobbled streets, lots of atmosphere. Grafitti on the walls is impressive. Need to be a bit careful of the holes in pavements/roads when walking! Probably need to be a bit cautious at night as to where you walk but the more populated areas are fine. Loved it!

“Beautiful Old Neighbourhood”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 13, 2013

San Telmo is always fun to visit on Sundays - flea market, tango dancers, entertainers, etc. However, it's also lovely to stroll through the streets during the week when it's quiet. Beautiful architecture.

“FOOD & FUN!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 12, 2013

Great area for a quick bite and a drink. We went to Medio y Medio, at night they have a live singer with great singing, order one plate for two and enjoy! ...after stop by the ice cream parlor at the corner for dessert and take a picture with little Mafalda, too cute!
