Owner description: Architectural landmarks in the city’s oldest neighborhood have been restored, and this revitalized area is distinctly artistic, with cafes, antique shops, cobblestone streets and lots of artists and dancers.

If you prefer NYC to LA, you'll love it here. Great architecture, history and culture. Otherwise, Palermo SoHo may be right place for you. (Lived in both, and while there's more to do in Palermo, San Telmo is the real BA).

Area is historic with interesting bars and restaurants and buildings. Is dirtier than it should be and caution is noted in traveling alone but one of the "must see at least once" places in BA.

17 years ago the antiques fair occupied the square only but has now become a victim of its own fame and spreads for blocks in all areas selling the usual tourist tat that can be bought in other areas of the city. There are some gems selling retro clothes or hand painted tee shirts but for a less crowded experience try Barrio Norte

Had lots of people tell me to come here. Can't quite figure out why. I thought it was a bit dull, not much to do.

Weekend markets have lots of handcrafts and pre loved goods. Lots of bars and cafes in side streets, better priced. Tango, drums, guitars create a great atmosphere
