Lovely colourful area to relax and have a coffee or beer watching all the tourists go by.
Stopped off at the famous football stadium of Boca Juniors for a look through the gates.
Interesting area and worth a visit.

The La Boca district is the 'tourist central' for tango in Buenos Aires. Home to La Caminita street where you have restaurants, shops, street artists & performers, its is a bustling, lively and colourful neighbourhood with an exciting vibe. Not to be missed!

La Boca has nothing to do with anything else you see in Buenos Aires. It is an area that is only there to please the tourists, without anything authentic. If that is what you are looking for, that is fine. Otherwise, go to the San Telmo district or to the Palermo district to see the wonderful street art and enjoy all the lovely local restaurants!

La Boca, and in particular El Caminito, is a colourful area which is great for getting some good photographs on a bright, sunny morning. It's a little touristy because of that and there are the usual stalls selling the same old souvenirs. But it's well worth a wander around and a coffee in a local cafe while you watch the world go by. Just a couple of blocks away is the imposing 'Bombonera' - home of Boca Juniors. This massive blue and yellow edifice is a magnet for football fans from around the world but very disappointingly the stadium tour has now closed down.

A great morning stroll though (we felt perfectly safe despite some of the warnings in guide books) - and while you're in the area make the effort to find El Obrera - a fantastic locals restaurant a 15 minute walk away - for lunch.

If you can ignore the obvious tourist traps and avoid eating anywhere in the area, La Boca is worth a look, it's a very small area covering a few block and you can get a few good photos of the building.
