You go here on tour bus where they stop for refreshment. normal tourist stuff i.e. stadium etc. But if you can go for a walk around the area " no problems with safety normal rules apply " you will come across local people with there doors open selling food barbecue style and well worth tasting.

Great fun, amazing for taking pictures of the colourful houses.A very touristy place, though its quirky and with great character and cannot be missed if visiting Buenos Aires.

I loved looking at all of the colorful houses and everything. Everyone is out on the streets having a great time. I suggest going for an afternoon. I'm not sure about night, the surrounding area may be dangerous.

In my years visiting BA, la Boca has gone from a sleepy riverside area to a teeming tourist hangout. The clubs offering food and small scale tango shows add a local flavor [even if a bit too touristy by a third] but the real delights of la Boca are the brilliantly painted facades of the building on the waterfront.

Enjoyed walking around La Boca and taking in the atmosphere of a bygone era. Very well set up area for tourists. Enjoyed seeing the tango dancers and the wonderful market with locally made goods.
