Owner description: The most celebrated Argentineans, including Eva Peron and her family, are buried at this elaborate cemetery, where mausoleums replicate chapels, pyramids and Greek temples.

This is a vast cemetery, where you can find Eve Peron buried. Excellent guided tours if you are interested.

This is an impressive cemetery located in the heart of the city. Was the highlight of my trip to BA which is short on attractions. Eva Peron's grave is what most people go to see but there are many ornate tombs with impressive architecture.

Our tour guide took us to Recoleta Cemetary and it was just astounding. Yes, it might be a bit creepy to tour a cemetery but the sculpture alone makes it worth the visit. The ornate buildings are impressive and the personal touches to many of the mausoleums is really something. This is a wonderful free thing to do while in Buenos Aires.

It is an interesting cemetery. Very ornate. Worth a visit if you are in BA. We walked around for about half an hour and that was enough for me.

This is the most incredible cemetery I have ever visited anywhere in the Christian world. The tombs are the size of small houses and the cemetery has the feel of a small city, with roads and cross roads, side streets and back streets. The great and the good of Buenos Aires are buried here from the founding fathers to Evita. It is quite something to behold; not vast but compact and with the high rise blocks of the city towering over on three sides. The park in front of the cemetery is quite beautiful too with some amazing trees, especially a huge rubber tree over 200 years old and some beautiful Araucaria. Well worth a visit to absorb a feel for the historical figures and the cultural essence of Argentina.
