“If you are in B-A, it is one of the things to see. Eh!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 27, 2014

Famous for a balcony on which Evita appeared, government buildings, groups of protesters seeking information about the hundreds who disappeared in the Peron years, soldiers seeking government compensation for their participation in the Falklands war, etc. and site of a cathedral. It's a large square with a couple of historic buildings and average people watching. If you are nearby it's worth walking a block or two to see, but it is not worth a special effort.

“Historically interesting...watch out for dog poo”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 14, 2014

This part of town holds so much history. The birth of the city, the foundations of bygone eras. The Cathedral, the Presidents house, and many styles of architecture can be seen from here. It is also a little dirty (maybe from the consistent presence of protestors), watch for dog poo and watch your pockets.

“Enjoyable walk around the Plaza”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 26, 2014

This plaza is stunning!!! With so many beautiful buildings and park in the middle. We sat in the park and absorbed everything around us. People were sitting around the park during their lunch break so this seems to be the place "to hang out".

“There's a lot going on”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 20, 2014

Great place to see Argentina's government building and an way to see some old architecture. There's a lot to see: tourists; former soldiers from Falklands protesting government for compensation (museum curators said they didn't see active duty); memorial to soliders; big shoes; and etc. It's outside. Enjoy the outdoors. Close to other attractions including National Academy of Tango.

“Great History”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 10, 2014

If you don't know the history of the Plaza de Mayo, look it up before you go. When I went there were protests going on, and that is normal. So if you don't like that sort of thing, check before you walk around for too long. The Casa Rosada is beautiful and worth a look as well.
