“HAS THE BEST STAFF OF ANY HOTEL I HAVE EVER STAYED IN”
Reviewed August 24, 2009

I found Malabia House to be in a perfect location: fashionable Palermo Soho. Nearby to dozens of great cafes, bars and restaurants...as well as cool clothing boutiques and furniture design stores, all situated along lovely tree-lined avenues. It is a great neighborhood. Rooms are elegant and tastefully designed in an understated, modernist-influenced manner. All are air-conditioned. The whole place has a very welcoming and cool vibe but in a very warm and friendly way. The young staff are the crown jewels of this charming boutique hotel. They were the best of any hotel I have ever stayed in--large or small. They simply make you feel great! Malabia House is a terrific base to explore Buenos Aires...and a perfect sanctuary to return to at the end of a long day--or night! I have stayed there twice now and found it to be a great experience both times.

I spent two nights at Malabia House on my first visit to Buenos Aires. It was cold and rainy the morning I arrived, however when I walked in Malabia House it was warm and welcoming. The staff is exceptional and helpful. Great with restaurant suggestions, car reservations, etc... The old convent turned boutique hotel has so much character and warmth. I would recommend this to anyone traveling to BA - also very conveniently located in Palermo SoHo close to all the shopping and dining one could ask for!

1555 Malabia House has so much going for it: a great location in Soho and a beautiful vintage building that has been lovingly restored with meticulous attention to detail. Public spaces are intimate and comfortable and the small dining room serves an excellent breakfast. Staff seems to be constantly cleaning and straightening up; property maintenance standards are very high and it shows!

The best asset of Malabia House, however, is it's staff. Nicely groomed, pleasant, well-informed and sincerely interested in your comfort and enjoyment, they make you feel as if you are staying with friends. On several occasions when we returned "home" late after dinner and clubbing we found one of the staff waiting outside at the door for us to ask how our evening had been and to wish us good night!

Rooms are large and nicely appointed. Though some of the rooms are "interior", creative use of courtyards and light wells makes them light and airy during the day.

Not all rooms have "ensuite" baths. A short trip down the hall to your "private" bath could be disconcerting for some; if it would be for you, be sure to ask for an in-suite bath. Albeit a little awkward running into other guests in the hall while in your bathrobe, the baths themselves (quite small but beautifully designed) sport a very nice bath amenity package and nice linens.

These guys are pioneers and you can see why. They opened this venue a while back and despise the trends they settled in and believed in an area that has became the trendy 'Barrio de Palermo'.

This hotel has it all, the service is friendly, professional and above all keen to help and show you a great time in probably one of the best cities in the world!

Arcitects, designers, tourists, romantics, couples or dreamers should enjoy a few nights in this idillic building, I'm certainly coming back for more 'facturas' for breakfast!

Thank you guys!!

The entrance is simple, discreet & gives no hint for what awaits. This is a boutique hotel as they are called these days; and probably is. For me it was an affordable "bit" of luxury. It's not a spa, but the charming concierge service rendered by it's staff set this apart for my wife & I, on our stay in BA. If I could transplant this hotel & staff to my next foreign travel venue I would! Rooms were larger than I expected given the vintage of the blding. Beds were comfortable, the entire premise seemed to be in constant state of pleasant attention. The neighborhood was safe! A reasonable walk to the subway or bus lay ahead. It was very quiet!
