The walls between rooms are so thin that you will hear even your neighbors wisperings, not to tell doors and toilette flushing. I was woke up several times because of this. I'm not comming back.

While Design Suites has a good, central location in Buenos Aires, the hotel itself is significantly lacking in several areas:
- Room Comfort - the rooms are small, but that is not unusual for many boutiques. The problem is our room was laid out very poorly and it felt very cramped and hard to move around.
- Room cleanliness - Our room felt dingy and was falling apart in many respects - e.g. the walls had scuff marks and the bathroom light swithces were falling off
- Service - the staff was either indifferent to us or were blatantly unhelpful
- Food - the free breakfast was terrible. Far below the free breakfast at every other B. Aires hotel we have been.
- Sleep quality - the walls at this place are paper thin so if your neighbors happen to have a different schedule sleep schedule, prepare to be woken up.

Bottom line, though you can get a room at this hotel for a relatively low price, you will wish you had paid a little more to get a much better experience.

I am currently staying here, it's on the Edge of Recoleta, it's not a european or Australian/American style hotel. It's urbane, that's the appeal. There is no carpet (thank goodness in this humidity) but it's clean, I found it to be very quiet, the staff have been very good, not overly obsequious, but very helpful. I come in at 4am after nights-out and they know this and they lookout for me!
I am gay, and there are some gay venues close by (different story at those places let me tell you, talk about RUDE) but the design suites are good, the staff are very helpful and courteous, and it's a good place to stay, close to the Callao Subte, Santa Fe shops, excellent high speed free wifi. There is wifi everywhere in BA, great if you have an iphone. Also Digital TV takes HDMI so you can watch movies off your notebook if you bring a cable. I haven't found any English TV, so movies off computer are good alternative. In room safe good for security. I was in the back of the building, so no street noise. Excellent restaurants close by.

During a 5 week trip to Argentina, this was easily our least favorite hotel. We slept horribly due to loads of noise, both within the building and from the outside. We could hear the people next door as though they were in our room. Every time a toilet flushed in the building, we could hear the water rushing through the pipes in our walls. In a hotel with a good number of rooms, this means you hear these sounds quite frequently.

The outside noise was also bad. We stayed in the back section of rooms on the 7th floor, which we thought would be quiet. The street noise was loud enough to cause sleep problems. We live on a busy downtown street at home and are used to nighttime noises, but this was far beyond the norm.

Service was pretty good here. We had no problems communicating with the front desk and they were helpful when asked. Breakfast was fine, the typical spread. Location is ok, not far from several areas of interest but not very close to any, either.

Overall, there are much, much better values to be found in Buenos Aires.
