The hotel itself is beautiful but the the room I got was small and not really confortable.
If you pay over 600 a night, you expect a top room, no less.
The food and bar are really nice and I dont have a complain about either.
If you choose to go, make sure you get a nice room.

Room Tip: Parece que hay varios niveles de habitaciones, por lo que sugiero que primero vayan a ver la habitac...

This is not my first time staying in the Faena hotel and universe. The hotel remains my favorite boutique hotel in South America, but i used to think it was better to be in recoleta because it was walking distance to shopping and bistros. This is the first time I spent a Sunday in Puerto Madero and boy has it grown to be "the place" on the weekends to walk alongt teh estuary and people watch. The executive room at the faena was smaller then the suite i stayed in last time but no shortage of ultra modern bells and whistles, stereo system, sliding remote control shades, glass enclosed bathroom, not for the bashfull... I am still a huge fan, but now i am loving the area more and more.

Room Tip: Go for at least the Executive rooms they are slightly larger.

We had the oriental day spa as a couple I totally recommend it super romantic and luxury. Starts with a yoga class at midday then you can eat something by the pool (it is not included and food is just ok, not great and pricy son just have something light, it's worth it hanging around by the pool) as we got delayed they cr and look for us and offered us to delay the massage so we could enjoy oir stay relaxed, that's awesome! The. We had a bath at the jacuzzi with roses and bubbles in a beautiful private room al in marble and exquisite design. They guvebyouvhalf and hour to be alone with your mate and them the massage starts, we both fell asleep it was amazing!! Them you can hang aroundvinbthe relaxing room beautiful decoration and use the sauna and hamman. To enjoy the whole experience use 6 hours, it's been the most cool spa I've been in Bs as (better than Duhau, alvear and Sheraton)

We had planned this trip to Buenos Aires as part of a trip to Rio de Janiero and Iguazcu and sort of knew what we might expect as the hotels were chosen by reference to trip advisor. We had had a taste of a Phillip Starck designed hotel - the Fasano - in Rio. However, when we arrived at the Faena in the evening, we were blown away by the the sea of red on the walk into the hotel reception. Trip advisor and the website do not do justice to the actual hotel. The ambience is amazing and that wonderful exotic aroma that permeates the building make this a very special place.

The visit was enhanced by the very positive and friendly attitude of the staff. From our arrrival and the first moments in the room to the bars and restaurants we were treated as though we were the most important people ever to have stayed. Despite our worries that we were "Soy Ingles", we could not have had a warmer reception.

We also had some of the best nights' sleeps ever in one of the most comfortable beds ever.

The recently redeveloped Puerto area in which the hotel sits has numerous bars and restaurants and sits well alongside the more traditional parts of the city. We used the hotel as a base for walking around the city and found it easy to navigate around and, indeed, felt very safe. We were advised not to go to the Boca area on foot in the evening - so we didn't.

Of course, we wanted to see a tango show and the visitor centre in the docks area advised us that although expensive the Faena's tango rojo was the best in the city. It certainly was a fantastic experience with great dancing, great food and service.

We dined in all the restaurants and had poolside food as well - the standard was excellent and no more expensive than prices we had at the other hotels at which we stayed on this trip. They were on a par with prices at home in the UK. We found however, that you could get good food and service across the city at lower prices and during our travels we availed of this opportunity.

The wine selection in the hotel was also very good - and we found that the house recommendation of the lower priced wines was very good - the Argentine sparkling wine which was also available at breakfast was superb.

The only minor criticism we had was the inability to add a tip to our check/bill/cuenta at the hotel. I think I understand the reason why but nevertheless it was problematic as we tend not carry cash when we are lounging about the pool and yet we wanted to reward great service. However, this did not detract from what was a perfect stay.

What we did note is that some of the guests may have a very different experience because of their own attitude to staff - we saw this on a number of occasions but all we can say is that we were made to feel very welcome and very special.

A big thank you to the whole team at Faena - the stay was magical. Well done.

Yet again I’ve landed in a capital city airport and been metaphorically grabbed by the scruff of the neck to appreciate what a wealthy beautiful and dynamic city London is. So many other capital cities look 3rd world in comparison.

People here in Buenos Aires are very friendly and there is a vibe but it’s so achingly obvious in everything you look at and feel, that this is a country on its knees economically. Sad, considering only 80 years ago they were the 5th biggest economy in the world. It’s clearly had little investment in the last 40 years.

The low ceilinged airport terminal has worn linoleum tiles on the floor, with buckets everywhere catching leaking air conditioning units. Walls paneled with cheap melamine over chipboard sheets, are chipped and broken. Outside, small old beaten up cars fill the streets, and there’s a pervading sense of things not working.

My hotel is lovely though. This old refurbished grain store, The Faena, is in a pretty regenerated area around docks. The main city square is just a pleasant 10 minute stroll across the water.
Good friendly staff, pretty surroundings and views over the river from my Executive Studio corner suite. Philip Stark’s playful witty design hasn’t replaced functionality unlike some of his early offerings. Everything in my room works.

Downstairs, the breakfast restaurant has a strong underlying kitsch theme for the interior, “What Granny sent to the car boot sale”. A collection of housewares from Victoriana through to Art Nouveau. It's fun.

The outdoor pool is beautifully proportioned and lounging and lunching here competes easily with sightseeing. They have a Tango theatre in house where you can dine and then watch a cast run through an hour of classic dance routines; it's reputed to be the best tango show in Buenos Aires. The bar had good live entertainment which runs ‘from’ midnight. The gym is surprisingly large and well equipped and they also have a decent sized yoga room. In fact it was all so accommodating I didn’t want to venture out too often and would happily have spent another week there.

Not sure if this is the right place to post this but here goes. Visited El Cabaret bar/restaurant at the Faena recently. Great Tango show - varied, high class dancers, good band and a couple of great singers. Ran about an hour which was perfect for us. But in a city of so many great restaurants, the food was definitely so-so. Come for the show, not the steak.
