The air conditioning problem does not appear to be solved and many felt it had badly affected their asthma. The rooms are somewhat claustrophobic as the windows look over other rooms. Breakfast was good and there is an excellent steak restaurant opposite.

i have stayed many times at the bisonte palace and always been happy with all aspects except the air conditioning which needs to be left on 24 hours a day in order to cool the room. otherwise the rooms are reasonably large by european standards, clean, comfy beds, 3/4 size bath, and quiet. brekky is great - a full buffet with real freshly cut fruit, eggs, sausages, ham, cheese lots of breads, rolls, medialunas, etc etc.
restaurant doubles as a bar with service all day and well into the night
you can leave cases without charge if returning from an upcountry or overseas trip as we did
good restaurant almost opposite (try their criolla, onion, tomato and red peppers quartered!, delicious)
turning left on to suipacha and walking 100 yards brings you to los chilenos, not as good but not bad
one extra thing. walk down to mitre station, about 15 - 20 mins through the park, buy a ticket on the train to tigre at the booth marked "tigre" - you may need to queue - and enjoy he 50 minute journey for less than a dollar/ 50p.
at tigre walk to puerto fruitas and catch the 90 minute round trip for about 85 pesos. the boat is every hour at weekends/holidays and twice during the week, 12.00 and 14.00 and 16.00 but with rio tur website

Room Tip: side rooms don't get the morning sun and this helps the air coditioning to keep the room cooler

We stayed at the Hotel Bisonte for two nights in Jan 2013. Our flight arrived early in the morning and we were allowed to check in early at no extra charge.
Someone met us outside the door and assisted with our bags. Check in was a breeze and a young man took our bags upstairs. He explained how to get the lights and the air conditioner working.
The room was large, and the shower very good. Breakfast was also very good.
The staff at the front desk were all very helpful, calling taxis, making restaurant recommendations for us.
The hotel is very well situated near Avenue Julio and one could easily walk to a lot of the city's attractions.
Would definitely stay there again.

The hotel is small and has great service. The breakfast is good, but very repetitive. The room is clean, spacious, and relatively comfortable. The air conditioning is not the best. The bathroom is clean and the shower is very good. However, other people can see you showering because the bathroom window is transparent and has no curtains. I had to improvise one curtain with a face towel. The tub curtain is plastic. Thus, it is impossible to shower without wetting the entire bathroom. The location is great, right in Buenos Aires microcentro, and near the Calle Florida and a subway station. The staff are very friendly and attentive. A good choice in Buenos Aires.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on a high floor, and see if your bathroom can be viewed by others.

Excellent value hotel. Really nice warm well appointed rooms with lovely big beds and nice bathroom and shower. Breakfast was lovely and staff were very helpful. Would definitely stay again. We stayed in a hostel prior to this hotel which was almost the same price so it was a gret glue hotel

I expected better from this hotel. The rooms are dirty. The carpet in room is stained. The bathroom feels filthy given state of bathroom walls (looks like mold). Also, please get rid of the horrid shower curtain that looks old and invariably will touch your body while showering. I am unable to recommend this hotel.

Although we arrived in the morning we were allowed access to our room straight away, which after a long flight allowed us to freshen up and go out and explore the area. It is in an area of bustling shops but only a short walk from the main pedestrianised shopping street. The staff were very helpful. Breakfasts were good. The room was a little small but everything worked well
