This hotel is situated in the heart of the bustling capital of Argentina.
If you are interested in hotel location that is convenient to shopping center, touristic destinations, public transportation both buses, and metro then this is the place for you.
the hotel inside is modest in par with a 2-3 star hotel in the US. My room on the 10th floor was relatively small with a shower stall and an AC or some other motor that starts up every 30 minutes in a very loud manner. If you are a light sleeper you may want to request a room away from this noisy inconvenience. The staff at the front desk is helpful but will not go our of their way to help you.
I ended up arranging my own tours both in BA and across the river plata river to Colina del Sacramento. It is extremely easy to use cabs, and walk around the city . It is both safe , clean and well marked.
The hotel is right in front of the obelisk monument which is BA major landmark; so you will never get lost in the city even if you try. Within walking distance there is another landmark restaurant Tortoni where you can enjoy a Tango show on Friday and Saturday nights. Another fun place to stroll to is Peru street full of artists, crafts, arts, and all the souvenirs that you may need to bring back home.
One recommendation is to not change your dollars or other hard currency at the official rate in the hotels or banks which was about 5 pesos for one dollar during my trip. try to negotiate paying in dollar as you may end up getting almost double ( they call it the blue market) the official exchange rate.
I paid about $ 50 a night not including breakfast. I thought it was good deal if you just need a convenient place to crash for the night.

Room Tip: Request a room away from the engine room if you are a light sleeper

These hotel was terrible, we made a last minute reservation, I regret it. It is a very old hotel with not restoration visible. The elevators were extremely slow, we have to use the stairs every time.

The rooms too small and everything very old and dirty. there was permanent nasty odor in the room and in the hotel.

Finally we had to made a thirty minutes row to get to the front desk and the concierge made us wait 30 additional minutes because he was on the phone, the worst hotel ever.

I have stayed in this hotel for 4 times already. The location is excellent, very central! There's a metro station right in front. A Carrefour supermarket on the corner, many many theatres on the road in front. In the hotel, there are 2 types of rooms (standard/ and luxury/street view), I've stayed in both, they are not very large but are definitely enough for a tourist and many bags. The floors are not carpeted, what is a differential in Bs As (it means, no cigarrete smell!). The service is great, very prompt reception and room service. I've used the SPA service too and it's GREAT!

My evaluation is similar to others here: rooms are very very small (my husband and I had to take turns to open our suitcases in the room), service is not attentive and, the worst of all, the cleaning was terrible. I found 3 bugs in the room, being one in the toilet paper. Disgusting.

The good part is the location: right in front of the obelisco.

It's located exactly in the central point of Buenos Aires. Surrounded by shops and all night open restaurants. Beds are comfortable. Breakfasts good and tasty. Excellent value for money. Unfortunately, their swimming pool and "spa" hasn't been renovated since the 70's. And the water in the pool was freezing.

Room Tip: Try to book in advance the room with an Obelisk view.
