I've been guest in Alvear Palace many times and it is always a great stay. The attendants are really nice and the service is 100% efficient. Suggestions: their breakfast is amazing!!! Prize is high but if your looking for a fantastic experience in buenos aires without renouncing at your usual comforts this is the place for you

This is a gem of a hotel. It is definitely one of the best and ABSOLUTELY THE CLASSIEST hotel I have ever stayed in. This surely must be one of the top hotels in the world. I loved the old world style of service. I have stayed at hotels with fantastic service but none that provided the service with a patina of class.

Highly recommended.

This was my first time in South America. Knowing Buenos Aires was loaded with history I decided to choose Alvear Palace. And I am so glad I did. Our hotel stay is one of the highlights during this trip. The room was beautiful! Louis period furnishings, daily fresh fruits & flowers. The service were incomparable. Everyone were so nice at the front desk, the restaurant - servers were willing to serve you with their smiles on their faces. This goes to the very attentive servers during our afternoon tea. And the very gracious manager Fernando, thank you for making us feel at home. The bell/valet team, you are the best! There was one glitch though. We were on a taxi on the way to airport when the front desk called us about how many people stayed in our room. And I answered back- just two of us and we don't know anyone in South America. It marred the whole experience. But overall it was a memorable visit to the beautiful Argentina.

We were so glad to have chosen the Alvear palace Hotel. It has grace, character and style and you really feel so welcome. The service is impeccable, from the concierge desk, to front desk and front of house. Everyone is so professional and helpful. This really was a wonderful experience. Very glad we chose the Alvear rather than a hotel where you could be anywhere in the world. We stayed in a junior suite...enormous comfortable bed, plenty of space in the room and a great bathroom, complete with spa bathtub and tv... Great for relaxing after a day treading the streets. The hotel is located in a great, safe area. We can highly recommend and would return in a heartbeat.

We stayed here as part of a cruise package, and from the moment of arrival the feeling was of elegance, but not stuffiness.
Service was impeccable, location was perfect, and our room was beautiful.
Comfortable bed and delicious breakfast each morning made it even more delightful.
We loved the city, but would not have enjoyed our stay as much without this hotel.
The concierge on hand, provided by the ship was superb. She told the most interesting stories.
The only negative...we tried to inquire about the price of something in a show case and could not get information though the staff did try.

Can only vouch for my visit for afternoon tea, but if the hotel is as top notch as their tea, this hotel has the best to offer for elegance and attentive service.

For a set price, your tea includes a selection of teas and a tower of savory tea sandwiches and sweet desserts to accompany your tea. The tea was served in silver pots, settings in fine china, and staff dressed in jackets and white gloves - all a must-have for an elegant tea experience. I don't get this often so when I do I set my expectations high for an enjoyable experience.
