Spent four nights here as part of package tour recently- This hotel is definitely an upmarket hotel in a safe (judging by the cops on every second corner) and handy location in Recoleta. It is opposite P{atio Bullrich an upmarket Shopping centre - with an equally impressive food court and designer boutique clothing stores. Even a cinema complex. From the moment our transfer doors were opened and bags etc. were taken care of - to the well versed reception staff - all top notch - we had a great room on the 16th floor with spectacular views across the- Rio De La Plata. The room was generous in size with a great comfortable large king size bed. The bathroom had both a bath and separate shower - even a bidet . Well decorated and appointed throughout. The breakfast dining room and buffet breakfast - were also impressive - no english breakfast here but everything else including some excellent pastries / patisserie . Great way to kick start your day. Had equally good pool area and fitness centre. The staff are very attentative and friendly - we enjoyed everything about this hotel - would definitely stay again. Can recommend it for sure

Room tip: Rooms on the upper floors 12 + offer good views

The three days at the Sofitel were a very nice bonus provided by Holland America Cruise Line because we booked a Suite on the South America and Antarctica Cruise from December 17th through January 8th. The staff at the hotel seemed to tell us the immediate area was not safe because they told us not to leave the hotel wearing watches or jewelry. I did walk around the hotel area and did not feel unsafe however but then I am 6'5". The room was very nice, but the view was poor even though we were on the 11th floor. Breakfast was included and it was very good. A lot of items that were unusual to us but that is to be expected. We also ate dinner at the hotel which was probably a mistake because there are a lot of nice restaurants in Buenos Aires, the hotel food was poor. I was looking forward to a nice steak and I received it and it was pouring blood. The waitress said "that is how we like it Juicy" I had said medium but not bloody. Juicy and bloody are not the same thing. There is a nice shopping mall across the street, but it is very high scale. The worst thing is we got there at 9:30 AM and could not check in until 3:00 PM and then on the day we checked out we had to be out by noon and were not picked up by the bus until after 5 PM which meant a lot of sitting around with nothing to do. The staff was very friendly and most spoke English. I would stay there again if I went back, after all it was free.

Room tip: Rooms on the front have better views

This hotel offers great rooms. The beds and pillows are soft and comfortable. The only bad thing about the rooms is that the walls aren’t sound proof so sometimes you can hear your neighbors. The bathrooms are very spacious and nice. For breakfast the hotel offers a great variety of food in the buffet. The quality of the lunch and dinner is great. The restaurant in general is delicious and has great service. But the best and most outstanding part is the “Pâtisserie”, which offers all kinds of delicious pastries and desserts. Some of the best desserts I’ve had in my life. The doormen are super friendly and helpful. Specially Juan, which helped me with directions and recommendations of what to do in Buenos Aires. The location of the hotel is great and is in a safe neighborhood. There is a great shopping center in front called “Patio Bullrich” where you can find shops and coffee shops. The hotel also allowed us to leave some of our luggage in their storage because we had a luggage weight limit of 16kg to fly to El Calafate. This helped to make the rest of our trip more relaxing and we didn’t had to pay overweight. This hotel is great, one of the best options in Buenos Aires. I totally recommend it!

We stayed for two nights as part of an organised tour. Very comfortable large rooms with lots of facilities. The rooms are very quite and well appointed. The hotel is in a good area with plenty of excellent local restaurants. Also it is easy to walk to the parks, museums and central area. A very relaxing and comfortable visit.
