Location of the hotel is ok, close to the subway and some shops and restaurants, right at the square. Staff at the front desk speaks English, and check inn and check out were fast. We booked through the website a room on a special promotion, which was only valid if the room was paid by creditcard directly. This didn't work, and the staff told is this was because they are not allowed to do the transaction without security code and this code couldn't be filled in at the website.
The hotel and the room were not what we're used to from Ibis hotels. The elevator was extremely slow and the room was pretty worn out. Mold in the bathroom, broken tiles, not perfectly clean, little bathroom amenities, no minibar, no coffee making facilities, and, as is always the case with Ibis (but no where else in any hotel we stayed in in South America) no free internet. However, the bed was comfortable, the airco worked very well, no street noise in the room and a lot of tv channels.
Breakfast could be better; with f ex vegetables of some kind and not so sweet things (but then, that's Argentina...) Service nice and welcoming but reception desk could be more efficient. STUPID with a minimun amount of characters for review - next time I will not answer...!
Very good location - right on the plaza de Congreso and within walking distance from the microcentro (pedestrian area). Friendly staff, fine breakfast, clean rooms (not very large though) - would love to stay there again.
Congreso area now is not a safe or clean area to stay. Worst at night.
The hotel is located in or very close to micro-microcentro, so its ok if you want to walk to microcentro and metro lines.
About service: under average... if you're looking for good hotel service, look another one. Best service on ibis hotels probably on Bogotá Museo, or Santiago Estación Central, in S.America.
On Ibis Congreso, you have large lines waiting for check-in or check-out... no food at normal ibis times (nightly hours), sandwichs that they names like Chicken with veggies, but you got Veggies and cheese. If you ask for it at customer service... they affirm that cheese is chicken. OK. Enough for me.
Nobody likes to discuss this kind of things with temporal employees...
For Long stays in BsAs I recommend renting apartments. Same price, perfect location, good service: your type of service required. Good luck!
Hotel = ok
Not so good = restaurant
in general = ok
nothing to tell more about this hotel - i can write a book about a simple ibis hotel at the center of buenos aires - your limit about 200 caracters !!!
