Stayed for 2 nights in November. Very pleasant house. Owner Carla is very friendly. Location is great. Walking distance to a surprisingly nice shopping and dining area. There is no sign on the door though. You need to look for the house number.Highly recommend.

Stayed in a comfy & spacious room for 4 nights. After reading other reviews we asked for a room away from the street & were given this at no extra cost.
This is a great place to stay to get more of a feel for how locals live-it's in a residential area rather than tourist central. There are no signs or anything out the front so don't be put off when you arrive-just ring the bell!
The service was excellent-we had ordered tickets to a rugby game over the Internet before we arrived & had these sent to the B&B. Carla who runs the place answered all our requests & made sure we got the tickets.
The only thing that wasn't so great is you need to leave your key with the staff & buzz for your entry whenever you come & go. Someone is there 24/7 though so not too much of a problem. Even though not all of the staff spoke a lot of English, nothing was a problem for them & we were able to communicate the essentials.

The property is centrally located in one of the most social and hip areas of Buenos Aires. But what makes this property special is its owner, Carla, and her staff. Upon arrival, once you are properly settled, she will sit you down and give you the lay of the land. She will pull out maps to give you and highlight them and make notes of things for you to do. She or one of her staff members is available 24 hours to help. She is pleasant, respectful and interesting if you wish to engage her in conversation.

The price is perfect for what is offered. Do not expect a four star hotel with expensive furnishings. The rooms here are clean and air conditioned, the beds comfortable enough and the bathrooms offer hot water and soap. The nicest part of the house is the awe-aspiring backyard patio and the dining room. There is a large flat screen TV in a common area with a dvd library. A few blocks away are streets filled with restaurants and activity late into the night.

As far as things not to miss in Buenos Aires - obviously the Ricoleta Cemetary is not to be missed, the weekend market in San Telmo, a tango bar, and a steak restaurant (try La Cholita, Don Ernesto, or La Cabrera) - to be honest, however, the best steak meal I had was at El Palenque in Montevideo (a 3 hour ferry ride from BA). My overall sense of Buenos Aires (I was there for a 6 days) was that it would be a great place to live and would be fun to visit for 2-3 days, but 6 days was too long - the key to having fun in Buenos Aires is having a great group of local friends to socialize with - for a tourist, however, the key spots can be seen in 2-3 days (assuming you are there over a weekend), other than that I believe that the best of Argentina is outside of BA. But when you are in BA, this is the accommodation I would recommend - it was one of the highlights of our trip!

This B&B was pleasant enough - rooms were fine, staff friendly, location superb. My problem with this place is the exchange rate charged by the hotel. While it appears good value on the various websites (shown in USD), the owner will ask you to pay cash in pesos which, when her own exchange rate is applied, equates to 15% more than what an official exchange rate would give you in pesos. Not acceptable.

Baires Soho is great value for money in Buenos Aires, the location is perfect, 10 mins walk to a metro station, Palermo Soho is great for bars and restaurants, and Plaza Serrano is only 5 mins walk. Carla was very helpful, and speaks good English, all the staff are friendly and make you feel very welcome. I had a nice room which was clean, quiet, and air conditioned. I would recommend staying here.

if you are looking for somewhere cheap, cheerful and centrally located in Palermo then this place ticks all of the boxes. Having arrived off a gruelling flight from the UK, we were warmly welcomed with drinks and information about the local area. The location is perfect for exploring not only the Palermo district but way beyond given its proximity to the Subte. We were slightly unlucky in that the room we had booked was being occupied by someone who didnt want to leave and so we were somewhat downgraded but realistically it didn't matter (plus we got a refund). The rooms are simple, clean and comfortable. The 2 ladies that run the place were really helpful with recommendations and in booking us a taxi to the airport as we left for Asuncion after 2 days.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that does not face the road - you will be kept awake by revellers until the early hou...

I highly recommend this hotel / hostel!! It is newly renovated and provides the perfect quiet spot right in the middle of the best part of Palermo SoHo. I booked a room for 2 weeks right when I arrived in Buenos Aires and was searching for a long-term apartment, and I am so happy I did. I was tempted at first to go the cheap route and book a $15/night room at a hostel, but I am so happy I invested a bit more into BAIRES SOHO. My friend did the cheaper hostel and sorely regretted it. The room was comfortable, simple and had a big window to an outside courtyard. Despite it's central location, everything was quiet and 1000% safe. Natalia and Carla are SUPER nice and make you feel right at home! We even drank mate and ate facturas (delicious pastries) in the kitchen together sometimes. I felt very safe as a female traveler being alone. I did not own any keys to the building, either Carla or Natalia was always there to open the door. The place is walking distance from everything - great restaurants, parks, a yoga studio, the subway and the bus lines. Highly recommend!!
