Taking advantage of being in front af a "plaza" where they show a Tango dancing couple is not an excuse for such a real bad service and even worst food. On top of that the beer was warm...

We ended up eating here on NYE because everywhere else was closed or was only offering set menus. We were expecting the worst because of the location right in the most touristy part of San Telmo and the poor reviews but we actually had a really good meal. My lomo steak was excellently cooked and honestly just as good as the lomo at Don Julio and La Cabrera. My girlfriend had pasta which she also said was very nicely cooked. The place itself is full of character in a sort of ramshackle way that fits in with the whole feel of San Telmo. It's a bit overpriced but that's not surprising given the location. From my experience at least, it's really not that bad!

I guess it could have been worse. The food was average but edible. And service was decently fast by Argentinian standards. We expected this restaurant to be a tourist trap and it is exactly what it was. We opted for the special menu and the quantities were very small. We were hungry two hours after leaving the restaurant, which was really a first for us in Argentina.

If you really want to eat outside on Plaza Dorego, Chenoe is a better option. It won't be a culinary extravaganza either. But the food will be better and the portions larger.

The best part of our experience was definitely the atmosphere. We went on a Monday night but there was still a fair crowd. We sat outside in the plaza and there was a band playing - in theory a great way to spend a summer evening. The food, however, was really disappointing. We ordered a steak and grilled chicken. Both were overcooked, fatty and dripping with oil. The salad that came with the chicken was literally a pile of chopped lettuce, a pile of chopped tomato and a pile of grated carrot. Even the fries that accompanied the steak were dry and overcooked. Neither meal came with ay sauces or dressings and resembled something that you would cook at home on a lazy night rather than something of restaurant quality. We have been travelling around South America for some time now and have eaten in a range of restaurants and we think this represented the worst value for money so far. We can handle simple dishes but we expected more for the price paid at Todo Mundo.
There are so many restaurants around Plaza Dorrego, I am sure there is a better choice.

I had a good Metambrido tiernizado al verdeo con patas natural (veal cut sauted, green onion sauce, with steamed potates), good and tasty meal. The atmosphere is very good as you are sitting at the nice square (Plaza Dorrego), and even can enjoy tango performance couple of meters away as I did. The price was OK, the service as well.
