“Best christmas ever!”
Reviewed January 14, 2013

The Petit Hotel El Vitraux was the perfect headquarter for this year's christmas/new year celebration. I stayed for two weeks with my girlfriend and my family (24-60 years old), a total of seven. We had rented all the rooms. Rooftop barbecue, marriage proposal, taking us to a tango lesson, and great recommendations for food, drinks, concerts (tango and non tango), were some of the things I was lucky to take part of because of the hotel's friendly hosts.
Beautiful and clean rooms, even an outdoor courtyard perfect for drinks, reading, talking or games. Highly recommended, and I am looking forward to staying here again!

Such a lovely accomodation, with really spacious rooms. The owners are really sweet and take good care of their guests. They gave us many good tips on tours, sights to see and marvelous restaurants. The only thing lacking was a sign on the door, so please remember the address.

Elena and Mike were incredibly warm and accommodating hosts. Leading up to my visit they watched closely and stayed in constant communication as my flights with Aerolineas was delayed over and over again. They were incredibly accommodating with instructions on how to get to and from their place (calling ahead to arrange for private cars). They had great recommendations for food and places to visit in the area as well. The house was very nice. Walking in you find 3 rooms for guests all with their own decoration. The rooms were clean, renovated and well furnished. In the back there was a small private courtyard providing some needed shade from the hot sun; it was a great place to sit and chat with other travelers as well. Breakfast was good. There are two washrooms; one of with with a full bathroom. There's no doubt that I would stay there again.

Room Tip: The Green room which is in the center of the house is probably quieter than the others and definitel...

The room was so clean and so were the restrooms (they're also beautiful). It's such a home/local environment. Mike and Elena were very hospitable and helpful with all sorts of tips and information.

The other guests were friendly people as well.

Awesome experience. Definitely feels like you're part of a family.

I would definitely stay again.

This place is perfect if you want to make your stay in Buenos Aires a great and unique experience!

The place offers nicely and individually decorated rooms in a good area of Buenos Aires with walking distance to all the main attractions for a good price. With only three bedrooms situated in a typical house, the place is rather small and perfect for anyone who likes to get a feeling of what Buenos Aires is about. Sharing bathrooms turned out not to be a problem at all because there are two bathrooms which are very clean. For this reasons already, I can fully recommend the place.

But what makes staying here a great experience are the hosts and the very personal atmosphere. Elena & Mike are just great hosts and will help you with anything you need to explore the city and to feel home. They create a unique atmosphere where you will meet people from all over the world. It does not feel like being in a hotel but like staying with friends.

To say El Vitraux is a hotel is sort of doing it an injustice. Mike and Elena treat their guests with a warmth and care that makes you feel like a member of the family. These two lovely and very genuine people go out of their way to make your trip to BA one to remember. They really have a passion for what they doing and I know in the years to come, when my mind strays to the great time I had with them, that it will bring a smile to my face.....thank you both.

As for their small hotel.....the rooms have real character and charm. Something I love in places like this and to which hotel chains just can't compete.

My recommendation......book, you will not be disappointed!

Room Tip: Wherever you stay BA is a noisy city. If this is a concern to you I'd book the "back"...
