I can often be found in KOI Sushi bar and resto, because the owners are very serious about the quality of the food and keeping the authenticity of a Japanese restaurant. The kitchen chef is of Japanese descent, and she has studied culinary school in Japan, and you see Japanese clients there all the time. I go for the excellent executive menu, which as of Sept 4th includes a starter like Miso soup, 12 pieces of excellent sushi and dessert, includes a drink too, for only 100 pesos.

The owner Jose speaks English, and is very accommodating. Highly suggested for those that want an authentic Japanese experience that focuses on quality, all at a reasonable price.

If you see me at lunch at the counter, say hi!

Fred

I ate here on a weekday evening around 8pm. I was travelling on my own and staying local and was recommended the place by my hotel. The waiter was very friendly and spoke very good English. The menus were in Spanish, but with my basic understanding I got myself a starter of some sashimi and some other small pieces (they escape me at the moment). The waiter suggested he get the "sushi man" to prepare this and I could order more later, a good idea.

The sashimi was very nice, fresh and wonderfully presented.

When I had finished the waiter asked if I wanted anything else. I asked him of the chef had any specialities or could recommend anything. What he returned with was a beautiful plate of salmon, white fish, prawn and avacado sushi, photo attached.
