The boyfriend and I did the half day academia with Joss, and absolutely loved it.
Buenos aires is the perfect city to do Foto Ruta, as it is so colourful and vibrant and without having spoken with Joss and gleaned from her wealth of personal experience, we probably would have walked around just taking photos of the Casa Rosada, and would have missed all of the weird and wonderful the city has to offer.
We got off the beaten path to the cemetery in Chacarita, and visited the most random (and photogenic) organic market built in an old railway yard. Joss was extremely encouraging and helped everybody with making the best out of their technology, and to top it all off we all got to enjoy a nice glass of wine at the end while looking at everybody's efforts.
We thoroughly enjoyed the tour and I would absolutely recommend it to anybody, no matter of you are keen to really get serious about photography or just want to take (much) better holiday pics.
Thanks again Joss, for teaching us that it's not about the landmarks, but the feelings. Loved it!

My wife (a non-photographer) and I attended the Foto Ruta session that toured the Montserrat neighborhood. A unique experience we both loved, with some fun photos as souvenirs. Joss, one of the business owners that led our session, was very helpful and I'd want to try, if at all possible, to select a tour that includes her. Other participants (about a dozen from at least 6 different countries) added to the afternoon as well. Don't count on the session ending promptly at scheduled time, as there is lots to cover and a wide variety of skill and experience in the room.

The meeting place for the group, a small cafe, Chez Nini, in the neighborhood, added to the fun.

My tour with Foto Ruta in Buenos Aires was one of the highlights of my vacation in Argentina and Uruguay. My tour guide, Joss, was extremely friendly and super knowledgeable. I would recommend this tour to anyone, whether you are into photography or not. They will take you to places though out the city you may never see or open your eyes to new parts of the city you may have already seen. An amazing experience overall!! Not to mention a great way to get some sweet photos to share!

I joined in for an afternoon Foto Ruta Weekly in Montserrat, a neighbourhood in Buenos Aires with an eclectic mix of historical buildings and infrastructure.

Joss and her team came with in-depth experience about the location, from the eyes of a local. This made it much easier to discover interesting places and activities.

Plus the brief photo skills intro was a great way to break out of existing photo habits. I found the tips on street photography and approaching people for portraits especially helpful. And there were numerous great photo examples.

The session was also a good way to meet other travelers and locals.

Thanks again for a great afternoon. This was the first thing I did after getting off the plane, and it was definitely worth it.

We initially did a half day with Joss one on one and it was outstanding, we immediately booked a full day for when we returned to BA from Patagonia. She is an absolutely fantastic teacher who improved our skills by 100%, however that is only the half of it, Joss knows the city unbelievably well and takes you to some of the most amazing places that you would never see otherwise.

We were in ultra cool art installations in disused warehouses, a lighthouse at the top of an old building in the heart of the city and the nicest cafes.

All in all Joss and Photo Ruta are an absolute must for anyone visiting Argentina.
