We booked the full day-biking/kayaking as a way to get out of the city and see the surrounding sites. It turned out to be a fantastic day. Our guide, Federico, met us on time and quickly equipped us with bikes, helmets and water. The bikes are in good repair, however more comfortable seats would be great! We can't say enough good about Federico. He spoke excellent English and was very personable. In total there were my husband, myself and one other couple on our tour. The biking included approximately 12 miles of mostly residential streets with a small bit of biking in traffic. Relatively flat. We stopped about every thirty minutes for historical and cultural explanations and to see sites (drinking mate, wandering a small market, taking in views). We then kayaked for about an hour before lunch. Federico did a great job of giving those of us that are new to kayaking a crash course in the basics. (NOTE - you will get wet. Lockers are provided. If you want to take your camera with you on the kayak be sure to put it in a plastic sealed bag. My phone was in a tied plastic grocery sack and got soaked. Still not working!). The day we were there it was difficult to get across the river due to a lot of boat traffic and wind creating chop. Once in the lagoon it was very peaceful. We stopped for lunch and were served a traditional parilla - grilled meats accompanied by bread, salad and drinks. It was plentiful. Then back on the kayaks and once again across a choppy river. Followed by a short bike ride to the train station. Train ride back to the city to end the tour. We would highly recommend this tour.
