Owner description: A "Pay What You Want" tour, Buenos Aires Local Tours, is a great introduction to the past and present of Buenos Aires. You'll travel by public bus, subway and foot to see the Buenos Aires most tourists miss. Visiting Abasto, Congreso and Plaza de Mayo and it's the perfect way to get to know the city as a local does. Run by English & American expats, there are regular group "Pay What You Want" tours, and a private custom tour service is also available if you would like to visit other areas such as Recoleta (& the cemetery), La Boca or San Telmo.
Useful Information: Activities for older children

Is a great introduction to the city. You will not only visit touristic attractions, but also you will learn about Argentinian history, architecture, how to use the subte (subway), buses, money exchange rates... information that will help you on the following days in Buenos Aires.

Whether you're just stopping by or looking to rediscover Buenos Aires, this tour is a great way to get to know the city. Our tour guide, Ceri, was funny, knowledgable, and engaging. I learned a ton, and would highly recommend it to anyone.

Ceri, our guide, provided a good overview of the city. He showed us many spots, but also recommended other must-see places along the way. We did this the second day of our trip and have since come up with an itinerary based on the information the tour provided. Overall, an interesting and helpful experience!

We have been on many tours in foreign countries and this one was one of the best. It was educational, practical, informative and fun! It is a must for tourists and a great place for them to start their visit, and even for those who have lived in Buenos Aires for a good while. We stongly recommend it for young and older folks. Ceri was a wealth of insight and information....a real pleasure to be with.

I turned up for this free walking tour expecting a brief overview of the city and it's sights, but ended up getting a brilliant, detailed private tour with Oliver. We started near Palermo and took both the bus and Subte all over town which was a good introduction to the city's transport. Stopping for lunch in Abasto we then went on to see some of the most beautiful and historically important sights in Buenos Aires, ending at the Casa Rosada in Plaza de Mayo. Oliver was charming and full of knowledge throughout the tour, and being an actor he had very clear diction and lots of humour in his delivery. I imagine this is why his tour is very popular with private group tours too. I would highly recommend you take his tour as an introduction to this amazing city.
