Description: The house is small but the heart is big: the popular saying applies perfectly to Yauss, a little bar of San Telmo with arty imprint. From the stained-glass window, the small room with a few tables draws attention to its eclectic decoration, which mixes murals painted on the walls with Christmas lights, dolls and other details of a neatly uncluttered setting that arouses the curiosity of the most varied passers- Forcing them to appear shyly at the door. And as you watch, the hosts invite you to come in, offer a complimentary glass of wine, with an informal kindness that is hard to refuse. For midday, sweet and salty waffles (from $ 75) are highly recommended, which are cooked to taste from a varied list of ingredients. You can take advantage of the brunch, which is served daily, and includes a waffle with scrambled eggs, crispy bacon and cheese, plus green garnish, orange juice and coffee for $ 235. They also have a daily dish with drink for $ 125. At night, however, the tapas are imposed. The portions are not very large, but the friendly price invites you to order a good assortment (each $ 50, three for $ 125). For the end, a Catalan inspired dessert, the Mel i killed, fresh ricotta with honey and cinnamon. The pride of the house is the artisan cider, since they are partners of the Patagonian cooperative that produces it. They offer a dry variety (60% pear, 40% apple) shot and another sweet in the bottle. They also have a special promo: customers who carry a gift plant, receive a pint of free drink in return, and with these contributions they are putting together a nice green collection. The place was once WaflesSur, but its owner Javier decided to renew it to add their cultural concerns. Now the walls of Yauss become an impromptu art gallery that offers artists and photographers the possibility to display and market their work at no cost. In March, in addition, they are in full contest to renew their facade with a new mural, mimicking with the bohemian harmony of the neighborhood. Yauss Club is in the United States 509. “Tasty Jam”
Reviewed June 7, 2012

A great waffle joint with great food and a great atmosphere. Be sure to try a sweet waffle with one of the homemade jams - they really set this place apart from other waffle offerings in the city.

Always a pleasure.
It´s wonderful to know that our jams are considered "this tasty" just like our grandmother used to make them. WaflesSUR Doors are opened whenever you want.
Try also our hand made cafeteria. See you soon!

We wandered across this place when exploring the city. Was a prefect late breakfast after a big night out.

Even if you don´t hang out the night before, a big full and complete brunch with bacon, cheese and scrumbled eggs on the waffles will make you re-start the day with a big smile... Try it with the best coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice.
We´re waiting for you.

“Best Kept Secret in San Telmo”
Reviewed March 1, 2012

Stumbled upon this place while looking for lunch in San Telmo. Was drawn in by the owner Javier and quickly realized I had discovered a jewel in the city. The menu is divided into Savory and Sweet with options like "Tuna and plum, sweet&sour cream, with a touch of ginger" and "dulce de leche with raisins & rum." not to mention me and my fiancé were treated to hand made mojito's and some of the best and most attentive service. I've been Buenos Aires for 7 weeks and this quickly shot to the top of my list of "great spots." I don't want to over do it by saying too much, but think it's at least worth a try if you're in the neighborhood. Also they have happy hour from 5pm-11pm with 2x1 on most of their drinks.

We inform all the visitors that "Javo" (owner and current manager of San Telmo WaflesSUR ®) is developing a new concept to open in the same place, transforming the space into another option with different brand based on the interaction between art and cuisine home and attendees with strong emphasis on visual stuff, "live cooking" and surprises for cool drinks lovers. Vegetarians, celiacs and diabetics will able to enjoy the menu. You just need to contact Javo to find out "first hand news" anticipating the great opening in February. During January the place wil be closed and re opened with a new brand and with the usual human team which won the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence in 2013 but renovated in this space.
The new brand still being a big secret, but is going to be ready during the next weeks.

“Great breakfast - drinks - and waffles!”
Reviewed December 13, 2011

Wandered across this place and had to go back again. Super fun, yummy waffles with anything sweet and anything savory. Fun cooks, the fruity drinks were fantastic and lots of good reading material. They do a happy hour but go anytime. YUM!

Try the cider - best in town.
