Description: We inform all the visitors that "Javo" (owner and current manager of San Telmo WaflesSUR ®) is developing a new concept to open in the same place, transforming the space into another option with different brand based on the interaction between art and cuisine home and attendees with strong emphasis on the visual and the kitchen "live" and surprises for lovers of cool drinks. Vegetarians, coeliacs and diabetics can also enjoy the menu. you just need to call to find out first hand news coming February. During January closed and re opened with new brand will be by the same team which won the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence in 2013 but renovated in this spaceA family business dedicated over the last 10 years to the elaboration of handmade waffles in Patagonia; "Wafles Sur" is now an obligatory stop in San Telmo before or after a walk along Defensa street, a visit to the indoor market, or looking around the local antiques stores. At Wafles Sur you'll be taken in by the happiness, color and energy of the place, but most importantly of all, the exquisite aroma of the fresh, hot waffles - crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside. You can accompany them with savory products, or have them sweet with fine fruit jams, cream, nuts, and chocolate flakes - the "cherry on top of the cake". Natural fruit juices, special coffees, smoothies and micro-brewed beer round off the proposition of this innovative waffle house that surprises those who pass through its doors and in just a few minutes carry on their way smiling, waffle in hand, to their next destination.

We wandered across this place when exploring the city. Was a prefect late breakfast after a big night out.

Even if you don´t hang out the night before, a big full and complete brunch with bacon, cheese and scrumbled eggs on the waffles will make you re-start the day with a big smile... Try it with the best coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice.
We´re waiting for you.

“Best Kept Secret in San Telmo”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 1, 2012

Stumbled upon this place while looking for lunch in San Telmo. Was drawn in by the owner Javier and quickly realized I had discovered a jewel in the city. The menu is divided into Savory and Sweet with options like "Tuna and plum, sweet&sour cream, with a touch of ginger" and "dulce de leche with raisins & rum." not to mention me and my fiancé were treated to hand made mojito's and some of the best and most attentive service. I've been Buenos Aires for 7 weeks and this quickly shot to the top of my list of "great spots." I don't want to over do it by saying too much, but think it's at least worth a try if you're in the neighborhood. Also they have happy hour from 5pm-11pm with 2x1 on most of their drinks.

The new brand still being a big secret, but is going to be ready during the next weeks.

“Great breakfast - drinks - and waffles!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 13, 2011

Wandered across this place and had to go back again. Super fun, yummy waffles with anything sweet and anything savory. Fun cooks, the fruity drinks were fantastic and lots of good reading material. They do a happy hour but go anytime. YUM!

Try the cider - best in town.
