Located at Fierro Hotel, Hernan Gipponi has made its mark on the BA culinary scene since opening in 2010. I was there just after the Latin Americas's 50 Best Restaurants 2013 list (Hernan Gipponi is # 49) ... But I left a bit disappointed ... Sure, the food was correct, but nothing to remember. I really don't understand why in a city with so many options, HG is listed as one of the best ...

We stayed In the hotel and had dinner there one night. Food was great, service was good. Had great wine suggestions from their sommelier, Juan. The biggest problem with the restaurant at night is their overhead lighting. Too bright! They would be better off adding a few candles and turning off the lights. Otherwise, a really great meal

Hernan Gipponi's 'One Table' is a chef's table that takes place every Monday. Every week the menu is different depending on what the chef finds in the market and what he feels like cooking. The usual tables in the hotel restaurant are cleared and replaced with a big communal table that seats up to 14 guests. The communal nature of the dinner enables complete strangers to talk to each other and contributes to a very sociable atmosphere that gets progressively more convivial as the night progresses and the different wines are poured. For 380 pesos the chef presents 9 courses with wine pairings. The evening usually kicks off with a special cocktail that also changes weekly. The courses are paired with a selection of interesting Argentine wines including sparkling, whites, reds and dessert wines. I have been to One Table three weeks running and each time found the experience incredibly delicious and immensely rewarding. Memorable dishes include burrata cheese with blueberry vinaigrette, a perfectly cooked trout with extra crispy skin, melt in the mouth bondiola, a superb roast bife, a savoury seafood stew with chickpeas and mouthwatering rice with morcilla and chicken. For the main courses, Chef Hernan and his kitchen brigade emerge from the kitchen to carve and serve with great aplomb and coordination. The service is always impeccable, friendly and warm and all the staff are highly knowledgeable about the food and wine. An experience not to be missed while in Buenos Aires.

It's is the best fresh gourmet restaurant in Buenos Aires. Emphasis on fresh. We stayed at the Hotel Fierro where the restaurant is located, and every morning at breakfast watched the staff bring in fresh seafood, meats, fruits and vegetables. It rivals restaurants in Paris, Florence, Barcelona, San Francisco and NYC. Trust the Chef, the menu changes daily and everything is delicious. The wait staff is absolutely charming.

The chefs one table is a great experience. One not to be missed. The included wine pairings in this preset menu were well thought out and very enjoyable with the amazing courses. You will not leave hungry this I promise.
