Luciano took my wife and I on a full day city tour of B.A. . We had a good time and we learned a lot about the city and Argentina. One of the Highlights of the day was the tour through the Casa Rosada.
Luciano was great and we recommend the tour.

In the evening, we took a "Milonga"show tour. Andre picked us up at the dock and took us to the milonga which was located quite a distance away. So we had a nice tour of the town on the way there and back.
The milonga was located in a neighborhood “hall”, similar to a church hall with a stage. We sat at a little reserved table located around the edge of the dance floor.
Our guide, Andre, was a tango instructor and he brought his partner, Milda. They explained the tango and answered our questions all evening..about a wide variety of subjects.
The dancing begins at 9pm and ends around 3am. We told them that we were ready to go after a few hours. They were very accommodating and would have stayed as long as we wanted to. The people in BA are late night people and we are not.
What was really unique about this tour was that we were the only tourists in the room. One of the locals was having a birthday party so he shared his birthday cake with us.
This was not a show, it was local people who were excellent tango dancers dancing in their neighborhood.
I would say that this was one of the highlights of our South American trip.

My husband and I had a private half-day tour with Fabian on Christmas Day (we had asked for Christmas Eve, but apparently 12/25 worked better for Cultura Cercana, and we were happy to change). Given that it was Christmas Day and most Portenos were busy preparing for the holiday with their friends and family, we were extremely appreciative of Fabian's time with us. Also because of the holiday, pretty much the entire city was shut down, so we were able to zoom around town in Fabian's car without any traffic. Fabian was so shocked to find such great parking spaces in the tourist centers of town. At our request, we focused our trip on La Boca, Downtown, and Recoleta (pretty much just the cemetery). Fabian told us interesting stories about the immigrant experience and artwork in La Boca, about the political protest tradition Downtown (at the Casa Rosada, etc.), and about the specific people entombed in the Recoleta Cemetery. He shared personal stories about his own family background, too. He was very personable. He and my husband talked about soccer (sorry--futbol!) for nearly 30 minutes straight. It was a lovely morning and a great way to see the touristy sites--it was a richly interesting, personalized experience. We couldn't have asked for anything more. Thanks, Fabian!

Thank MandD G
