“12 days in Buenos Aires”

Our daughter is currently living in BA and we thought it would be a good idea to visit her. We did a fair amount of homework as to where we wanted to stay and the quality of the accommodation. Despite the homework you don't always get it right but in this instance we were both delighted with our choice.

The apartment itself is on the 25th floor with stunning views of the city. There was no need to fear about the lifts as there were three within ten yards of our front door and a further two nearby. We never had a long wait! The rubbish collections were only a few yards away in the fire escape area . We only went to the pool a couple of times and did not venture into the gym/sauna (the last two being at the top of the building) so can't really comment on these.

There was only two of us with my daughter visiting occasionally. There seemed to be only three or four of everything so if you wanted to have a few people round tell them to bring there own glasses etc. From our perspective food was very cheap so we only cooked once. The kitchen equipment was OK but a bit sparse if you want to cook a lot. If you want to use the dish washer bring your own rinse aid/tablets

Location/location/location- perfect!! Five to ten minute walk to the metro which gave you access to the whole city.I would suggest you buy a bundle of tickets for the Metro day one . This won't save you any money but the ticket offices were not always open and when they were they had queues. Our daughter advised against the buses as payment is in coins and can be quite difficult. to get off at the right stop unless you know the city well.

Lots of supermarkets around. There is a large one within a 20 minute walk but the local smaller ones are within five to ten minutes walk.and are perfectly adequate

There is a large park within a quarter of an hours walk which also houses the Japanese Gardens. We had a picnic there at the weekend and the atmosphere was lovely with whole families enjoying there time in the park or by the lake.

Our daughters house was about a 30 minute walk but we invariably went by taxi as it was so cheap. The taxis were always metered and it cost Peso 250 ish ( I always gave Peso 300 which on the exchange rate we achieved came to $3 or £1.80.)

I think the owner was not in the country when we arrived but was there when we left and came across as a charming man. He helped us with our luggage and was also helpful when the car we had arranged to the airport was very late.

We were out most nights till quite late as our daughter is into Tango dancing. We never felt uncomfortable walking back to the flat in the early hours of the morning. There is a 24 hour security system in place where you have to be let through a locked gate before accessing the ground floor

All in all a very enjoyable stay
