“Perfect place for that name”
Reviewed February 20, 2012

La Escondida means the hidden one. You can pass by without noticing, right. But its worthy of a visit because its a great parilla. First, you can get a seat on a shady terrace not directly on the street. Second, their meat is great, even better than the classic ones you can find in that area. Third, their salad bar (included if you have a meat platter) is the best we found in our stay in BA. They have also a decent choice of wine. You won't find many foreign tourists there, but after 10PM, you'll find yourself surrounded by locals. Always good sign.

“Very typical parrilla in Palermo, recommended”
Reviewed January 27, 2012

We visited La Escondida with local friends who are regulars of this large, welcoming restaurant in Palermo, Buenos Aires. We needed a good peace of meat after a few deceiving experiences in other restaurants, and here we found it. The place was full of local people, large, welcoming. Service was prompt and quite friendly. The salad bar was well equipped with very good quality. Our Asados were abundant and cooked as requested. The wine list is adapt to their selection of food, and very reasonably priced. Will go there again, our next time in Baires.

“Better choice than las cabras”
Reviewed December 5, 2011

The steak at Las Cabras was nice, but this was great! The salad bar can't be beat. Affordable wine list, too.

“One of my favorites parillas in BsAires”
Reviewed November 8, 2011

Very popular parilla in the heart of Palermo, la Escondida is definitely worth a visit. The place is really nice and comfortable. The prices are decent and they offer a large variety of steaks, meats and other BBQ. They have a great salad bar an excellent wine list as well. Service could be improved but overall it is an excellent and highly recommended hang out.

“Big and loud”
Reviewed March 2, 2011

Huge place in Palermo, seating swveral hundred at a time. so it gets fairly loud. Especially if there are Argentinian families there, letting their kids run up and down the aisles, screaming.
Steaks are standard Argentinian quality, ie very good, but the prices are slightly higher than average.
The service does a great job keeping up with the masses but it gets a bit unpersonable.
