Description: The Baqueano comes from its etymological root baquía, which means the practical knowledge of the paths, shortcuts, roads and rivers of a particular territory, also the skill and dexterity for manual works and the fact of being a veteran, experienced in particular subjects. Sometimes the figure is a man, in opportunities he seeks, others he traces, accompanies, knows, understands, mimics with the earth, leaves walking or riding his horse, leaves traces, and recognizes them, finds food and channels water, see the stars and constellations, eat, nourish, respect the earth.

Reallt unforgettable. A lovely surprise. The restaurant was recommended to me by a couple in El Calafate. We were in the same hotel. The restaurant offers seven dishes, 5 plus 2 desserts. Very creative dishes (the menu changes every month) varied and delicious exotic meets. You will eat the portions in a refined and quiet atmosphere. Everyone in the restaurant were very kind. Great wines. This dinner happened on my first night in Buenos Aires. At the end, the waitress offered to buy two bottles of water in the nearby market, so I had sparkling water in the room for the night. Excellent. 1000% recommend! I will be back!

Recomendo 1000% e voltarei!

I've been to this place close to 10 times now and it is always on its game, I've never had a meal that was less than spectacular here. For what you get(8 courses + wine pairings for each), the price is very reasonable. The menu changes often though they have some mainstays that are the menu staples, like llama carpaccio and an unbelievably good alligator skewer. Can't recommend this place enough.

The restaurant we had originally planned to go to was fully booked but the maitre'd recommended El Baqueano a short walk down the road. The menu was a special end of the month four courses with matched wines from the North of Argentina. The main course being Lama Canaloni. A wonderfully presented exotic meal, with fine wines well matched to the food. The waitresses are extremely helpful with reasonable English. A warm friendly atmosphere and accommodated a group of five even though we had not booked. This may have been our lucky night as the restaurant did appear to be fully booked. Our observations included the delight of seeing a young family with baby and toddler who were both well looked after. Definitely worth going to but note its cash only not credit cards.

I went alone here and for such a small place I didn't feel awkward even though I was seated in the middle of the room amongst couples. The food was fabulous, exotic and filling. The wine pairings were delish. Don't be afraid of the look of the neighborhood at night, you'll be fine.

a 5 step menu wth meat from autoctonal animals with modern textures and flavours. good experience, worth a visit for a 180 argentinian pesos.
But to be honest the thing I remember the most was a riesling a sommelier suggested from Humberto Canale old Wineyards: fantastic!
