“Great Boutique Hotel”
Reviewed June 22, 2014

We stayed in the Palermo Soho and Recoleta areas of Buenos Aires, with the Duque located in Palermo Soho. This was an a good choice for people who like a trendier area with chic bars, restaurants and unique shops. The hotel is located about 2-3 small blocks away from the hub of the action and quite close to Don Julio's. It is just around the corner from a Carrefour and McDonalds.
The hotel room was a good size with an extremely comfortable bed and no noise. There was cable television with some English channels and a fridge. The breakfast was the best I had in South America and the only one that had a chef to cook eggs the way you like.
The front office staff were extremely helpful with restaurant and bar suggestions, which is important in that area of BA. One staff member was unsure about the Buquebus service to Uruguay but did his best to help us. Staff are also willing to leave the spa on longer if you are returning late at night.
I don't think you could find a better hotel in terms of a price to quality ratio than the Duque. Highly recommend it.

Room Tip: Our room didn't have a curtain to the frosted window of the stairwell so when people turned on t...

My wife and I stayed at Duque Hotel for five nights, and had a fantastic stay. It is in a perfect location in Palermo Soho, a couple blocks from the main shopping / dining area, and convenient for anything else you may need (grocery store, ATM, taxis, etc.). By American standards, the room was nothing fancy, but still perfectly fine, and for the price it was definitely a great value. And all of the amenities (shower, bathroom) were modern, clean, and nice. What really made the Duque so great was the staff. Before we had even arrived, I had peppered them with questions about our stay and requests for help with dinner reservations, and they were always friendly and prompt in their responses. While we were there, same thing; always super friendly and very helpful.

There is also an excellent breakfast spread that is included in your stay with eggs made to order and an assortment of pastries. I highly recommend the Duque and hope we get the chance to come back!

We stayed for one week at Duque Hotel. It's a small and cosy hotel. The location is very good. We had a nice room on the first floor. Every morning there was a lovely breakfast. The staff is very kind and always willing to help. This hotel is great value for money!

Buenos Aires has a great selection of boutique hotels and this is amongst the best. The staff at the front desk are very helpful and eager to please. We had a second story room facing the street but did not experience much street noise even with the windows open. We were able to walk to the main area of Palermo SoHo with amazing restaurant and shopping options. The staff arranged for our airport transport both to and from.

I stayed a week at Hotel Duque on a trip with my 16 y/o daughter. It's a great, small hotel with a personable staff that's eager to help. All guests get free breakfast in the morning, including cooked-to-order eggs. There's a spa which we did not visit. Our room was on the second floor and faced the street. While we occasionally heard street noise, I liked the small balcony and seeing what was happening in the surrounding neighborhood. Other rooms open into a small courtyard.

The rooms are clean and modern. They're not especially huge but then you'll likely only be sleeping in them. There's a power strip that accepts different types of plugs so you don't need adapters. We were able to charge 3-4 different devices at a time. Free wifi too. Lots of good restaurants within walking distance, as well as the botanical gardens, Av. Santa Fe and other sights.

Room Tip: If you're a light sleeper, ask for a room off the courtyard. Otherwise, get a room with a balcon...

We stayed at The Duque Hotel before and after visiting other cities during our trip to Argentina. When we arrived the second time, welcomed by name with the left luggage already in our room, we felt like returning home. The warm, helpful and efficient attitude of all the young people of the staff made a perfect stay. Every request was always solved and with a smile. Considering that the hotel is a remodeled old building, rooms’ size and amenities are adequate and cover all accommodation needs. Located in a residential neighborhood, and very close to plenty of restaurants, diverse shopping and night life, it gives an interesting opportunity to observe how local people live and to mix with their daily activities. While not in the main touristic area, it is situated practically on a main avenue with availability of taxis as well as five blocks from the Subte station (the Buenos Aires subway). In short, if traveling again to this attractive city we would certainly stay at the Duque Hotel.
