We loved our stay at the Duque Hotel. The staff is extremely friendly, trustworthy and helpful. They are all fluent English speakers. The accommodations are attractive and comfortable. The breakfast (included) is quite adequate and is served in a lovely dining room. Internet access in the computer alcove is also included. The hotel is locked at all times and security is quite good. The hotel is just on the edge of Palermo Viejo and quite close to lots of restaurants in that exciting and youthful neighborhood. It is just off Avenida Scalabrini Ortiz where there are lots of busses for the adventurous traveller. It is also a short walk to the Subte D line. It's a great choice in every respect.

Room Tip: All of the rooms are relatively quiet and quite nice.

We thoroughly enjoyed out stay at this hotel. Our flight landed early in the morning and the pre-arranged driver whisked us quickly through the charming streets of the city to the hotel. Luckily our room was available upon arrival (around 10am), and we were quickly checked in and given breakfast. A very welcome gesture after a fourteen hour flight. Others who arrived at a similar time were also treated well - their rooms were not yet free but they were given access to showers and shown the breakfast room. Brilliant service.

The location is relatively quiet, but yet not too far from the attractions and general bustle. Buses were nearby and the closest tube station was a few blocks along a major avenue. Equally important is that the restaurants, bars and boutiques of Palermo were only a short stroll.

The traditional facade of the building hides the very swish and modern interior. Clean and stylish, we felt very comfortable and could easily relax. Our room was a "superior" one, and there was plenty of space for us and our luggage. The rest of the hotel was no less welcoming. The spa in the cellar was perfect after a day traipsing around the city. We used the sauna and jacuzzi daily and never saw anyone down there - a nice way to unwind before heading out for dinner. The pool, whilst not that big, also provided the opportunity to relax.

Breakfast was good quality and there was sufficient choice (especially given the relatively small size of the establishment). Fresh meats, cheeses, breads, cakes, fruits, cereals etc. Yoghurts and fruit juices were plentiful, and eggs were cooked to order. There was even a toasted cheese sandwich machine. Coffee lovers can enjoy themselves - a machine which makes freshly ground coffee is available throughout the day (and, to complement this, there is some cake available in the afternoon).

And, just confirm the theme of many other reviews, the members of staff were exceedingly warm and friendly. Their welcoming nature was evident from the off, and everything was done with a smile. Whether it was just giving some information about the local area, to telephoning various restaurants or shows to ask questions and make reservations, nothing was too much trouble.

It really is a wonderful hotel in an intoxicating and vibrant city, and if we are ever lucky enough to return to Buenos Aires again, we would not hesitate booking a room at the Duque. Great stuff.

What sets this property apart is not the rooms, which are okay but not special. It's also not the breakfast, which was adequate but not very interesting. What works here is the professionalism of the staff and their understanding of guest needs. Even the maids were friendly and smiling. We had a late night flight: On hearing this, the lovely young women at the desk told us we were welcome to leave our bags and use the spa for a shower before heading to the airport. How nice is that?!?! And a young fellow in a jaunty hat made sure our transportation was set, even though we were not using the company with which the hotel had a relationship.

Good location in Palermo, friendly and helpful staff (all spoke English), nice breakfast and charming decor. Only downside is that the rooms are a bit small and could use some updating. When my neighbor took a shower, I could hear the water draining as if it was in my bathroom.
However, the location and great service more than make up for any downfalls. I would stay there again.

Hello Guest,

Thank you for posting your feedback about your recent experience with us.
Our guests’ opinion is the most important thing for us, and it seems that you enjoyed your stay with us.
We are sorry about the water inconvenience, but since those days were filled with rain the noise that you heard were the pipes releasing the excess of water.
Hope to see you again and all the best for you!

We arrived after a 13hour flight to a very good welcome .
Our room was ready in 5 mins and we were offered coffee while we waited.(we had booked early check in)
All staff very friendly. Area safe, a little out of the centre but all trips collect you and bring you back.
Good breakfast with hot food available.
Comfortable areas to sit and the pool refreshing in the hot summer, but not suitable for children.
We would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone

Cute hotel. Clean, modern, friendly staff, good breakfast, nice pool area, nice neighbourhood. The only tiny gripes were the small room and need to get buzzed in after a certain time (8pm?). Non-issues really, and they don't detract from the overall pleasant experience.

The hotel is located a nice neighbourhood which is pleasant for an evening stroll, and a 15 minute walk to the trendy Palermo district (good bars, restaurants and fashion) and 20 minute walk to the up-market Recoleta (art galleries and museums).

Sometimes when a property is quite a bit less then those in the neighborhood I get a bit nervous. I like nice. We stayed here 4 nights and this hotel is everything I would want in a stay. The staff is likable. The rooms are clean. The breakfast is what it is in South America. (All about expectation. Think European simple but stylish and you won't be disappointed.) BA is big. So the location is an easy walk to somethings and a bit more effort on the subway/cab to others. But nothing too far if you are the adventurous sort. Downside, the rooms are small. The elevator is tiny. This helps explain the price structure. Second, they HAVE an elevator. In hindsight was grateful as over the balance 3.5 weeks discovered this can be a luxury!

Room Tip: splurge for the bigger rooms if you can.
