“New York in Buenos Aires”
Reviewed January 17, 2013

Upon entering this elegant restaurant, you'll immediately feel like you're in the haunt of some investment bankers in NYC. The white coated waiters, the crisp linen, and the overall buzz didn't feel like BA, but at the same time it is very BA. They specialize in seafood. The mixed grill for two can easily feed four, so order accordingly. Maybe a bit pricey for lunch (around $100 for lunch, including wine for three), but worth checking out for dinner.

“Traditional but not just a meat palace”
Reviewed January 16, 2013 via mobile

My husband and I ate lunch here. At 230 on Wednesday, it was half full. Customers were locals business people and a few tourists. An upscale atmosphere ...dark wood...reminiscent of some NYC steak houses.

There are tables upstairs on a balcony overlooking the main floor.

Portions are huge so share everything....appetizers, salads, entree, desserts. We had sole (tired of beef!)...it was perfectly grilled, lightly seasoned. Thicker than sole fillets we get in US. Serving was 3 large pieces which could have fed 3 and definitely 2 people. It came with 3 sauces on the side.

Our bill was almost 700 pesos for 1 appetizer, 1 salad, 2 entrees (a mistake!), 1 bottle water and 1 bottle wine (126 pesos)

Menu had large variety of beef, lamb and seafood.

“Overrated”
Reviewed January 15, 2013

We went to Fervor for their fish selection and were disappointed that they only had 2 fish to choose among from the long list on their menu. The fish was prepared so-so and the sauces didn't do anything to enhance the meal. Overpriced for what you get.

“Exactly what we wanted!!”
Reviewed January 15, 2013

We were recommended to eat here by the concierge at The Alvear Palace and it really was exactly what we wanted. We had asked him to suggest a restaurant that served good steak and had a good atmosphere and it certainly catered for both of these requests! My rump steak was enormous and would have served two, but cooked to perfection. We ordered one side dish of fries and creamed spinach and there was plenty for both of us. Luckily we had reserved a table, as although it was fairly quiet when we arrived, within half-an-hour it was packed. The waiters were all very friendly and attentive. The diners seemed to be a mixture of tourists and locals, creating a very warm ambience. A lovely selection of breads were served as soon as we sat down and they were certainly generous with their serving of wine by the glass. When we left there were many people in the bar area obviously waiting for tables - not surprised, as we would definitely return if ever in BA again!!

“The best beef”
Reviewed January 13, 2013

The beef was so good that we ate twice on our last visit. An upmarket beef eating experience. It caters to a mix of tourists (not surprising given that it is in Recoleta) and local business people. Traditional and classic in its ambience - even if it is quite new. Very professional and attentive waiting staff. Not the cheapest but if you are looking for a great Argentinian steak, then you should try here.
