My husband and I stayed here while vacationing in BA from Sao Paulo. I used other reviews on this hotel to make my final choice and boy was I happy with our outcome. The hotel is in a very cute area of BA behind the main road and near a park. The rooms were clean and hotel management was very helpful when we needed some direction on what to do. The breakfast room could use an expansion as we kept running into people when trying to "go through the line" and also more variety would be nice. Overall very nice place to stay, I would recommend

Its a small but really nice hotel. Room was ok, everything seemed very new (i heard that mosts hotels in BsAs are really old, but not this one). Great location, you can walk and go visit even the recoleta cemetary without a car/taxi. We didnt had problems with neighborhood, everything felt quiet. The breakfast buffet is modest but nice. The waitress was very kind and you can ask your scrambled eggs every morning.
This was our 2nd visit to Buenos Aires - the first on we stayed at Sofitel (no comparison) - and we have no complaints about this one. In oct/2010 we are going back and i already made reservations to this charming hotel.

We stayed at the Marseille des Anges during the week between Christmas and New Years. We were a party of 6, my husband, teenage daughter and myself, as well as my brother and parents.
The building itself is very quaint, originally an early 1900s palace, the french decor is lovely. The rooms are adequate, simple, but the beds were comfortable enough. I would certainly not call it luxurious, but adequate. The bathroom could have had more storage space which was annoying for me. The including breakfast was also adequate, I am a bit of a picky eater, however the others in my party were happy. The coffee and cappucinos were delicious, and there were made to order eggs and omelettes as well as fresh fruit, yogurt, cheeses, meats, cereals, juices, etc. Internet access was free so we used our laptops in our room and there was also a computer room in the basement. The gym was out of order, so we were given passes to a gym down the street which was a nice touch since it was bigger and had more equipment than a hotel gym anyway.

What made this hotel truly special were the people who worked there especially at the front desk. Mattias and the other 2 men were so kind, patient and helpful to us! We spent hours with them, and they always kindly and patiently explained everything that we had questions concerning, from restaurants, to malls, to wine, to parks, to fairs, transportation, on and on, they helped us tremendously! The restaurants they recommended were the best that we ate at, and when they heard we were wine shopping for our wine cellar at home, they even brought some wine out from the basement. When we would call from our room in need of something, it seemed that the maid was at the door the instant we would hang up!!

I almost forgot! The location was prime, restaurants and shopping literally right outside the door of the hotel, and the area was very nice part of Recoletta as well.

This hotel is definitely on the standard, no frills side, and generally I want more luxe, but the helpfullness and kindness of the people there made it a solid 4 star hotel.

We reserved the "Suite Panoramique" for 3 nights, at $130/night, with a 10% discount offered for cash payment. We also had them arrange for a car for transportation from the airport.

Our driver was waiting upon our arrival.

They put us in the wrong room, (with only one small window) which we didn't realize until later, at which point we asked to be moved.

Apparently they had given our room to someone else, and we were not able to move into the correct room until 4:00 p.m. the second day.

It was a much more spacious corner room , with 3 balcony-type windows that provided wonderful street views.

The bathrooms in both suffered from an extreme lack of space, and neither had ANY counter space for toiletries. A real PITA.

The towels were small and not very thick, and there were no washcloths at all.

Cheap shampoo and conditioner, soap and a disposable razor were offered, but no lotion.

Service was quite inconsistent -some staff were quite helpful, others seemed to find guests an annoyance.

The included continental breakfast was very nice and varied on Saturday and Sunday morning; on Monday it was much more limited.

Wireless internet access is included in the price, but is SLL-OOO-WW.

Although there are prices shown for the laundry, ours was returned promptly, and with no charge added.

The public areas and the Suite Panoramique are very attractive, and everything appeared clean. I particularly appreciated the wood floors.

The best thing about this hotel is the location in Recoleta - it's perfect!

I would give it a qualified recommendation.
