A well located hotel in the city of Buenos Aires, close to all shops, pharmacies and restaurants. The hotel staff speaks English but the business places around do not. The nightlife in this city is amazing! and on the day people can find a very interesting market for antique shopping. Nice neighborhood!

This boutique hotel is located in an upscale, "happening" neighborhood. We had 3 kids in one room and the adults in the next room. The staff were very helpful and the breakfast was very ample. Only complaint was that the A/C didn't work well in one of the rooms and we had to ask a couple of times for it to be fixed, but eventually it was and worked well.

We spent two nights in the Own.

Location:
On the border between Palermo Soho and Palermo Hollywood, there is some construction done on the street, also a new office building is built opposite to the hotel. To Palermo Soho you have to walk ten minutes, also ten minutes to the restaurant district of Palermo Hollywood. Sometimes you hear the trains or the nearby bigger street (but only when window is open). You have to keep in mind that you have to take a cab or the metro to the city center, but i prefer Soho because of it's shops and bars, and the atmosphere is more relaxed than in the city center.

Room:
Spacious, good bed, not so much space to store luggage and belongings, Flat TV, sound system where you can connect your iPod/iPhone, good equipped mini bar, six different bottles of red wine, big safety deposit box. Design is a little bit 'reduced', no workplace, free WiFi available.

Bathroom:
Our bathroom seemed to be under construction, ceiling above shower seemed to be prepared to be painted, it was not possible to close the door to the bathroom completely, shower was very good but the shower head was not adjustable and fell down every couple of minutes, no mirror behind the basin. Bathrobes and flip flops available, also the usual stuff (shampoo, conditioner).

Staff:
Very friendly and helpful.

Breakfast:
Is served in the bar area, not so comfortable to have breakfast sitting on a couch, coffee is very good, fresh fruits, yoghurt, toast, media lunas, ham, cheese, average Buenos Aires standard. No possibility to sit outside.

All in all i would say OWN is between good and average (bathroom was less then average) but nothing special. In the same price range there are for sure better options in Palermo.

We spent 3 days in Buenos Aires in early December. We first stayed a few days in Recoleta then moved to the Own hotel in Palermo. Mercedes was working the front desk for most of our stay and she could not have been more helpful. There was a problem with the safe in our room and she moved us to the larger suite for a night but then allowed us to stay there so that we wouldn't have to move. That was much appreciated. She was also most helpful in arranging a side trip for us to Colonia Uruguay.

The hotel is modern with a minimalist style so if that's not your thing then you might not like it here. If it is, then stay here as the breakfast is great and you can't beat the service. It is also located close to several great restaurants within walking distance and the front desk is happy to make reservations for you.

Room Tip: Choose a room on the top floor with the balcony.

My amazing travel agent AJ (from www.travelperfected.com ) booked me and a friend to stay in this hotel. He told me it was a boutique hotel in the Palermo Hollywood area of Buenos Aires, famous for its arty crowd, and the for the best bars and restaurants. I wasn´t disappointed. Upon arrival, we were courteously greeted by Gaston, the night manager of the hotel. He gave us lots of information about what we could do locally, and places of interest to visit in Buenos Aires. We were overwhelmed with his hospitality, and when we got to our room, we were overwhelmed again: the hotel had written us a personl welcome note, our personalised weather forecast, and some other gifts. The room was very chic and minimalsit in design, with ultra modern sound system and TV. There was also an extensive mini bar with a full wine rack of fine Argentine wines...heaven. The hotel itslef was an art piece, and it was connected to an art gallery. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to any traveller - for both the ambience, the friendliess of the staff, proximity to the fun stuff, and as it made the whole trip easier for 2 lost Londoners!

We had a great stay here for 4 days in November.
The rooms are modern (sound docks for iPod, flat screen, etc) and quiet (concrete ceilings and floors).
It is located in a great neighborhood and is walking distance to other fun neighborhoods (Soho).
The staff is friendly, well informed and eager to help.
Great lobby bar while you wait for your date or taxi.
Breakfast in the lobby is great and complimentary. Fresh fruit, assorted bread/muffin/croissants, very good coffee.
If we would've been stranded in BA on our return flight, we would have booked Own Palermo Hollywood right away.

We stayed at Own for four nights last month. The location is good, albeit amidst a part of the city strewn with rubble. The staff is fantastic, hotel is very clean, and the breakfast is more than filling. If you want to stay in Palermo, I highly recommend this hotel. We walked to all the restaurants in minutes. There is no restaurant in the hotel but they do have a nice little bar.
