Great steaks and wine were the order of the day. It was like a well marbled rib steak with veggies on the side and salad. Choice of salad dressings in Buenos aires seem to be very limited. Mostly oil and vinegar.

During one week in BA we ate at this restaurant twice; we rarely return to a restaurant with so much else to sample, but this place is great! They were open at 7 p.m. so we didn't have to wait till the usual dinner hour of 8 p.m. Steaks were delicious as was the salad with marinated pears, candied walnuts, and roquefort cheese. House Malbec wine was good and inexpensive. The restaurant filled up as time went on, very cheerful ambience. The room is completely lit, no romantic mood lighting. The waiters were very helpful and understood our non-existent Spanish.

Our hotel receptionist at Tango de Mayo recommended this restaurant. We were sceptical but decided to give it a try. It was so worth it. Really delicious steaks, great Malbec wine and a good setting. Lots of old pictures round the walls. The lights were a bit bright but otherwise we couldn't fault anything. Try it.

We visited Chiquilin on our first night in BA and the restaurant is situated a minutes walk from Icaro Suites.
The decor is great, authentic tango style and both the food and service was superb.
We enjoyed steaks, chips, salad, breads and a bottle of Malbec, all for 3000 peso (£39). Maybe a tad expensive for Buenos Aires but well worth it for great quality food and a real taste of Argentina.
