“Lovely small hotel, fabulous staff”
Reviewed December 29, 2013

We stayed at the Magnolia at both the beginning and end of our trip and enjoyed it immensely. Coming back to it at the end of a fairly exhausting journey was like coming home. The staff could not have been more helpful...charming, informed, patient (!!) and totally engaged in ensuring that we and the other guests were having a good time. We enjoyed the Palermo neighbourhood and were very glad we were there instead of downtown. The more we walked around the more we discovered lots of interesting shops and restaurants, so we were glad to have a few extra days. For us, a significant part of the Magnolia's charm is that it is a small boutique hotel with personality and we would certainly stay there again.

Room Tip: We upgraded to get a larger room because we had a lot of stuff, but all of the rooms are a fine. Cup...

Our family of three shared a very nice room in this small, clean boutique hotel. It is in a great location. Safe and close to many restaurants and shopping, and close enough to clubs if you are looking for some fun in the evening. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We would definitely come back here when visiting Buenos Aires again.

We stayed at the Magnolia Boutique with friends for several nights with friends in late October 2013. The hotel rooms and breakfast were delightful and the staff superb! They provided excellent recommendations for dinner and were quite helpful with other suggestions. When one of us spilled red wine across several cream colored pieces of furniture, the staff was kind, gracious and effective in cleaning up so that we did not feel so embarrassed. We enjoyed the location of the hotel and hope to return there some day.

The couch looks great! You wouldn’t even guess that it was ever stained. You can tell Mary and Keith ;)

Warmest regards to you and Ron and for Mary and Keith too.

From the moment we arrived, we were treated with special attention to every request. Magnolia's location in the trendy Palermo district makes it perfect for strolling through shops and restaurants, as well as an easy walk to the Subte (metro) for excursions downtown. Our room was spacious and lovely, breakfasts were fresh and delicious, and the hotel is small enough to enjoy privacy or meet new friends visiting BA. The hotel staff arranged for a number of our excursions, often including car pick-up and return. If you like the feel of a small, old-fashioned European hotel with the concierge watching out for your comings and goings, you'll love Magnolia Hotel Boutique!

I was looking for an alternative to my hotel being on a longer business trip in Buenos Aires. Positive feedback in trip advisor and showing availability for the coming week made me walk on a Saturday afternoon to Magnolia Hotel. I always prefer to see the hotel personally to get a better impression before making a reservation. After ringing I was attended thru the entrance door speaker phone only. They informed me thru the speaker that nothing was available for the next week. I asked if the could let me in as I was also interested for the week after and to get an impression of the hotel from inside. They refused and advised me to send an email to ask for availability. I finally gave up and will not send an email, dont want to be guest of this hotel. How can you treat a potential client standing infront of your entrance door like that?

Dear Sir,
I´m sorry to hear you felt mishandled Saturday afternoon when you came to the hotel in order to see on firsthand what you have read about us on Trip Advisor, and want to apologize. You were attended thru the entrance door speaker due to security reasons. In this city, like in other big ones, we must be very careful at the moment somebody we don´t know wants to come in. Our guests rely on that.
I would love you could visit Magnolia and give us the opportunity to show you the hotel facilities and the hospitality and kindness of our staff. Just let us know when you prefer to come and we will be here for you.
Mit freundlichem Gruss

We stayed 4 nights at Magnolia. It's a small hotel with personal attention to guests. Reasonably priced considering the quality of the rooms and the location. Over the course of the stay we dealt with about 4 different people at the front desk, and we came to know all of them and got great help from them. Over and above typical hotel service. Good breakfast in pleasant room next to patio. The location is a side street of mostly apartment buildings. It is on the edge of the trendy shopping district of Palermo Soho, overall can't complain that we were outside that area because it meant that we didn't have the street noise but the shops were still close if we wanted to go there. Subway to downtown was about a 10 minute walk from the hotel. Palermo Soho was one of the coolest neighborhoods I have been to in any city. Magnolia is within 3 blocks of several good and reasonably priced restaurants. 1810 Cocina has great Argentine traditional food like empenadas. La Choza is a good steakhouse, just a notch below La Cabrera in quality, but half the price and great atmosphere. The gelato store on the corner was great, went there every night for dulce de leche granizado. My only suggestion for the hotel is to expand the coverage of the free wifi - it only covers the lobby and the halls upstairs, not into the rooms.

My husband and I were lucky enough to go to Buenos Aires to visit our daughter and friends recommended Magnolia as a charming little hotel.

We were absolutely delighted that we were able to stay here. Charming beautifully decorated boutique hotel. Our room was perfect with its own small terrace (ground floor) and the service was exemplary without being stuffy!! All the staff we met were absolutely charming, helpful and friendly and greeted us with great enthusiasm. We were first timers in the city and they offered masses of advice on places to visit, travel info and went out of their way to answer all our queries.

We had a wonderful stay in Buenos Aires and will certainly go back when we can spend more time exploring more of Argentina. Would thoroughly recommend Magnolia we loved it. ps There is a very pretty roof terrace where you can enjoy a drink in the sunshine or just sit and read in a quiet spot.

Room Tip: we had a room on the ground floor which gave us a small private terrace.
