“Haven of peace in an otherwise grimy Buenos Aires”
Reviewed December 27, 2012

Centrally located in Palermo SoHo, the Magnolia is close to BA's trendy boutiques, clubs, restuarants and bars.
It is less than 1km from the Subte (Metro), and well serviced by taxi and bus routes.
The hotel is in a converted mansion, very tasteful decor, rooms very spacious and staff exceptionally well trained and sincerely friendly and very helpful.
Breakfast is fresh and by Argentine standards, expansive.
Spotlessly clean and whilst in the hub-bub of BA, very tranquil

In one of the most pleasant neighbour of Buenos-Aires (Palermo) a small boutique hotel close to restaurants stops, etc. But very quiet. Large rooms around a clear patio, And a very pleasant roof top solarium to relax after a long day of visits.
Service is extremely friendly And helpful. Not to Forget breakfast with a large choice of food.
All in all an adress to be warmly recommended.

We had a perfectly acceptable stay at the Magnolia, highlight was the breakfast which is justifiably praised, bread was warm, jams and dulce del leche tasty, and other selections all of high quality.

The room itself was fine but nothing special. We had twin beds, and the beds themselves were more narrow than typical so for the price may have expected more.

The public spaces in the hotel are nice, but since we didn't spend much time in the hotel itself, perhaps we didn't get a chance to leverage as much as others.

Staff gets high marks and location is good, just didn't have a "wow" experience that some others did.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights upon our arrival in Argentina. We had a patio room, which at first worried us because we were right beside the breakfast area and thought it might be noisy. However, we were never bothered by outside noise during our stay. The room had a king-size bed, and a small sitting area. There was also a small exterior patio for our personal use. One thing that is not my preference, but not an issue, was that the sink was located in the room rather than in the bathroom. The employees were all extremely nice, and gave excellent restaurant suggestions. Get them to make you a reservation at La Choza, just around the block - we felt it was every bit as good as the well-known Don Julio, and it seemed that there was a deal with the hotel as we got some extras that others didn't. The breakfast was good - we ate too much the previous nights to really sample the menu, but what we did have was very good. And the ambiance of the hotel was great, from the sitting room in the entrance to the roof-top terrace where you could sit back and relax.

We also stayed at the #1 hotel rated in Buenos Aires at this time, El Duque, and really can't find much to separate the two hotels. I'd be surprised if anyone found a fault with this hotel, and highly recommend it.

We were originally booked into a hotel in the Puerto Madero area for our final night in BA after visiting Iguazu, but we enjoyed the Palermo area so much that we arranged to stay at this wonderful hotel (with the help of the Duque Hotel - our original hotel in BA before Iguazu).

The Magnolia is a very classy stylish boutique hotel in an amazing building in the buzzing Palermo area, although you might miss it as it has a very inconspicuous entrance. Our room was of a good size, with furniture was in keeping with the age of the building, air-con (which is needed at this time of the year!) was very quiet, en-suite was very well appointed and everything was spotlessly clean.

The served (not buffet) breakfast was very tasty and fresh, and the coffee was the best we had in BA and staff were friendly and attentive.

No negatives whatsoever, highly recommended.

This was our 2nd visit to Buenos Aires and also our second visit to Hotel Magnolia.
It is an oasis of calm and peace in a hectic city, but in a very well located area, with bars restaurants etc.
The staff are very polite and helpful (particularly Natalia and Fransisco)and can't do enough to help you and arrange any trips, shows etc.
So thank you to the team at Magnolia and if we are ever again in BA this is where we will stay.

We just got back from a quick tour around Argentina. This hotel certainly met our expectations. There is so much character to this place and attention to detail. We stayed three nights in the Terrace rooms which will not disappoint. You have your own private patio and a lot of privacy as you are the only room on that floor. Argentinians do not eat much for breakfast but this was a quaint breakfast offering: eggs, cheese, meats, fresh OJ, coffee, fruits, sweet pastries and jams/dulce de leche/other spreads. It felt very cozy and the staff was incredible: Francisco and Natalia were so great! They were helpful keeping our luggage even after we had checked out a week after when we were transfering in BA. In addition, Franciso gave us two fab recommendations for nearby eats: La Chosa & Cabernet. PS. La Chosa was one of our fave meals on this trip. We recommend it highly!
Thanks for a memorable stay!

Room Tip: Terrace Room for added privacy, own patio and some added luxe! FYI: I would bring my own moisturize...
