“Wonderful place to stay!”
Reviewed August 2, 2012

Beautiful hotel in an old mansion in a safe and quiet location in Buenos Aires. Chic and modern furnishing and decoration, lovely rooms and we had our own personal black and white checkered tile courtyard.

Breakfast was a highlight every morning, delicately sliced fruit platters and dulce de leche spread on sweet croissants- yum! Delicious scrambled eggs too.

As certainly most other reviews say, the staff are sensational. Warm, friendly, knowledgable and beyond helpful. On my first night the restaurant recommend around the corner- la Choza- was one of my best meals all trip.

It is 2 blocks from the middle of Palermo Soho and the good boutiques, and we encountered no trouble walking the streets even late at night after dinner.

Definitely recommend Magnolia for a comfortable stay!!

We spent eight nights at the Magnolia and I will definitely be returning. Rarely have we been received anywhere with such genuine warmth anywhere in the world. Its outstanding location aside (in the heart of Palermo Soho, with countless restaurants, shops, maekets and several good bookstores within walking distance - not to mention any number of fine museums such as the Malba, where we spent quite a bit of time), the Magnolia is run by a young, skilled, personable, friendly and outgoing staff (hats of to Florencia, Noelia, Miguel and Facundo!) who did everything they could (and more) to make us feel welcome during every minute of our stay. We were somewhat concerned about the fact that the hotel roms do not have a mini-bar because we needed to store medication at low temepratures but we were assured by email prior to our arrival that this would not be a problem and that the medication would be acccessibel to us at all times, as indeed iy was. Breakfast is HUGE and includes made-to-order eggs, a cheese platter, fresh fruit platter, a variety of teas and exquisite homemade jams (we had strawberry and the best bitter orange I have ever tasted in my life), yoghourt, butter, rolls and on and on. Our Terraza room was large, well-appointed, comfortable and warm (it is bitterly cold in Buenos Aires this winter). The hotel only has eight rooms and two stories plus a very elegant terrace on the roof where (on the one afternoon when the temperature allowef for this) we enjoyed lounging on cpuches and pillows with glasses of scotch and an interesting view of surrounding buildings. Every single time we left the hotel we were walked to the door and staff personally comes to open it whenever one returns to the hotel. We felt safe and rested for the duration of our stay. I should also mention that the owner is not only present most of the time but envisioned everything (from décor to service) according to what she always looked for in her many travels around the world. You cannot go wrong with the Magnolia! Our sincerest congratulations to Maria and her staff for their fine, welcoming achievement and long live the Magnolia!

When you like a small hotel with maximum attention, this is it. It is a beautiful house and a quiet place in a big city. The breakfast was delicious and customized. There was always somebody to help or to serve or to make dinner reservations or to talk to or to book a tour... The room was also beautiful and comfortable. The shower gave a lot of water. There is a cozy terrace on the roof.

Room Tip: I liked room nr 1.

I split my time in BA, spending half my time in San Telmo and the rest in Palermo, which turned out to be a great move as I got to see both sides of the city.

This hotel was the real highlight of my time in Palermo. It's such a beautiful, well thought out hotel with fantastic staff that are a real credit to the hotel. My room, the service, the food and the welcome were really superb. The hotel is in a great location too, on a nice quiet street walking distance to all the local sights.

I'd definitely recommend this hotel to anyone - it really was a home from home in a wonderful city and helped make my time in BA truly memorable!

If you want a place to feel homey while you are visiting Buenos Aires (but better because they serve breakfast and clean your room) then this is your place. The rooms are comfortable and cozy and the beds just welcome you. There is plenty of space to hang out and commingle or read books.
While we were there a very rainy day turned our plans upside down and they helped come up with clever options for us.

Room Tip: Ask them for places locals go for dinner and they will come up with amazing options.

Incredible second honeymoon. We could not have chosen better place to spend some quite time alone. Beautiful room, exquisite breakfast with home made yoghurt and marmelades. Very close from Palermo Hollywood in a peacefull neighbourhood. We even ejoyed the terrace in spite of the temperature! Also the welcome wine was a great invitation to start the evening! I am already planning here my third anniversary!
