Tango porteno incorporates amazing argentine singing, fantastic stage set up, and amazing dancing and dancers. Tango portento is located in the city centre next to the obelisk. I would recommend having dinner before the show. The meals are delicious. You will also get the chance at the start before the show to have your photo taken at your table and with tango dancers. This is a great memory to take away with you. Cameras are welcome too. The tango and dinner is inexpensive. There are two options. I took the slightly cheaper which was 750 pesos, about 80 aud.

The show started off trading sets of songs with 4 sets of dance. The dancers were very good, some even dazzling. The band was excellent and should be used more. In between sets they piped in older Tango music.
Eventually the dance got the better of song, as the show took you through the golden era of Buenos AIres in the 30's till this day.
Dance & music talk to me. The songs didn't. Maybe they are an integral part of what is Tango, but for me they could be reduced.
Good show. Staff was helpful and dressed inperiod costumes which helped make the atmosphere work.
Next step find tango in clubs. That should give a real view of Tango in BA.

The theatre is lovely and decorated superbly. Dinner was very good. Plentiful malbec with an excellent cut of meat and delicious meat empanadas. The dancers were extraordinary.

There seem to be many tango shows throughout Buenos Aires. We were with a group and went to Tango Porteno for a Tango lesson, dinner and a show. The lesson was simple, but fun. The meal was much better than expected. It was the best steak we had in Argentina, and we were eating a lot of beef! The dancing in the show was excellent. We could have done without the singers. We saw only one Tango show, so I cannot tell you if Tango Porteno is better or worse than any other show, but it was fun and you should see a Tango show if you are visiting BA.

They have fantastic dancers, it is a pleasure watching them. Dinner is good as well, but what I really enjoy is the dancers.
