I tried the tasting menu and was very well served, I was totally satisfied with the meal.
But I've felt that something is missed, some special touch.
I've been in others Astrid and Gaston Restaurants in Lima and Santiago, which were better than this. However, the food was good and the service was fast and efficient.
It is worth knowing if you're a fan of Peruvian food and Gaston Acurio, who is a chef I admire greatly.
In the end, I recommend a visit. The tasting menu is a fair price.
The atmosphere is very good.

If you haven't tried Peruvian food, this is a good place to start, although it is not as good as in Peru. Service is very good and ambiance is elegant. Expensive, though!

We thought it would be fun to try a different cuisine while in Buenos Aires so we tried Astrid and Gaston because it claimed to be Peruvian. We arrived and the attendant very graciously took us up-stairs and had us wait to be seated. There were several empty tables but still had to wait. Upon being seated we were given a choice of water and given the wine menu. Sparkling water was brought to the table as we had asked and we then asked for the wine we chose. The menu is long and in Spanish and contains extravagant and obscure descriptions for the dishes so I asked the waiter for help. By the way the wine was still not brought to the table. He recommended the ceviche and a 4 dish sampler and for our main he recommended the creamy shrimp soup. We accepted all his recommendations. The ceviche was mediocre at best. The 4 dish sampler contained heart in a sweet sauce – it had been prepared long ago so it was rubbery. The remaining 3 dishes were a deep fried potato without taste and a green masa tamal which we only tasted. The only tasty sampler was the pepper with cheese. The chupo which is what they called they soup was extremely disappointing – heavy and the shrimp overcooked. The service was dismissive and we had to ask frequently for our wine glasses to be refilled – had the bottle been kept closer, we would have easily done it ourselves – same with the water. Then it took a good 20 minutes before they brought the bill which we has asked for and only brought because I put my coat on and said we were leaving. The final blow was the expensive tariff for a very disappointing meal and service experience. Avoid it as there are many other much better restaurants in Buenos Aires.

If you like fusion food with elegant ambience, this is the place.
Very good service and quality of the food.
Sometimes it gets too serious, specially during the weeks.
