We had a great stay in the hotel's largest room (we were given a discounted upgrade). The hotel staff was extremely helpful, helping us find exciting things to do in the city, great places to eat, and even lending us change for the subway. We were served a great breakfast on our balcony each morning. Would definitely reccomend!

The hotel isn't located downtown, wich at first seemed more as a drawback, but on a second thought it's great because you get to live in an actual neighborhood, with real people, doing real things, instead of the usual turist circus. Besides, the A subway line is just 3 blocks from the Hotel, so it's just a 15 minute trip to Plaza de Mayo.

The place is quiet as heaven, so you get quality rest, you might sleep all day long if you feel like doing so. Breakfast is way above average, and you may enjoy it in your room, or balcony if you are lucky enough to get the balcony suite :)

From the beginning the staff were very friendly and always willing to help you in any way possible. The rooms are very clean, well decorated and comfortable. Everything about the rooms has something to it that displays care and thoughtfulness. On the other hand some rooms are a little too small, specially the bathrooms.

In conclusion this place is specially suitable for people on a romantic trip, people who enjoy being a traveller vs. a turist, and people who seek peace and rest in a beautiful setting.

Hotel is embedded in a very quiet and confortable atmosphere. The service from personnel is extremly friendly, customer-oriented and they take also a lot of time to help customer in any sepcific wishes. Rooms are quite big, very clean, proper and enables a very confortable and well sleeping. All the nice and interesting places to visit and go out in the evenings are easily and relatively quickly reachable.

Only 2.5 blocks from the subway, and tucked into the old city on a cobblestone street, this wonderful hotel has the charm of the historic coupled with the modern amenities. Imagine 20 foot ceilings, substantial woodwork, hardwood floors, original vibrant artwork and ultra modern baths, crisp linens and the most charming owner and staff. It was a real pleasure to stay at Raco de Buenos Aires.

We stayed in the Hotel Raco for 5 nights in November and really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is in a really nice suburb of Buenos Aires (approx 2 min walk from subway) and with lots of nice restaurants nearby. It seemed like quite an old, safe area. The staff in the hotel were very helpful with many tips about things to do. The room we stayed in had lovely decor, the only not so great thing was that the curtains were not blacked out, so in the morning, it was very bright (just a net curtain). Also, we forgot an item when we were leaving and the hotel very kindly posted it all the way back to us (free of charge). This was really generous and summed up the attitude of the hotel.

Raco de Buenos Aires was much more than I expected from a small, urban lodging. The hotel is in a modest and quiet residential nelighborhood within walking distance to several nice grilles and cafes. The hotel's historic building, while having been completely renovated to modern standards, retains some very nice original architectural elements. Our room was simple, but very comfortable, with glossy hardwood floors and a very high dropped ceiling with high-hat lighting. The furniture was minimal and sleek, and there was lots of open shelving built into the wall. The bathroom was thoroughly modern. Everything was very clean.

Most of the rooms in the two-story hotel faced a beautiful interior court and balcony that were filled with large potted plants and a small pool with floating plants. Guests could choose to be served breakfast in the court or in a cafe located on the subfloor. Each of the staff members spoke adequate English, and most were very fluent. All staff were very friendly and helpful. We may have a chance to visit B.A. next year, and we'll be sure to stay at this hotel.

We stayed here for 5 nights in June. We had booked a standard room but were given the chance to upgrade to a suite for a nominal extra charge as the hotel was quiet. The suite was excellent with a small balcony, a large bathroom with rolltop bath and separate large shower. The bed was big and extremely comfy.

Staff were extremely helpful. We arrived late and needing something to eat, were given directions to an excellent steak restaurant a few streets away. The hotel was a 5 minute walk from the nearest tube station which is on a main street with plenty of shops and banks etc.

We asked the receptionist if it was possible to organise a day trip to Uruguay and she suggested Colonia which was only an hour away by ferry. The ferry website was confusing and the receptionist gladly booked this for us via the internet using my debit card details.

Staff were also happy for us to eat in our room and even suggested and ordered takeaway pizza for us one night after we had been out for a long day.

The hotel had free wifi although reception was a bit weak in our room. Our room also had a locked connecting door to the next room and neighbouring guests could clearly be heard. If your a light sleeper, this could be a problem.

Finally, when paying the bill, I tried to pay by credit card. I was told the charge for this and was very surprised that it equated to more than the price of two nights accomodation, ie over £100. Luckily, I managed to withdraw enough cash from a few banks to cover the bill to avoid the hidden cost as it wasn't pointed out to us on arrival.
