We stayed at this hotel for more than 10 days. During this period, we visited many parts of Buenos Aires. It was definite one of our best hotel experience over the years. The hotel has easy access to a train station and several bus stops. The rooms are cozy and clean. The people there are very friendly and everyone speaks good English. They have good knowledge of the city and you can get detail information from them on where you want to visit. The rates are reasonable and the breakfast can be adjusted to what you need. We strongly recommend people looking into this place as their choice.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights during a recent trip to Argentina. The hotel is not fancy, but was very clean and comfortable. It is located in residential area, on a quiet street...so noise is definitely not a problem. We felt completely safe and secure...even walking home rather late at night. The metro is nearby as well as the bus stop...we used both. We were travelling with our teenage daughter, and the hotel added a small bed so we would be able to fit into one room. The best part of this hotel is definitely the staff! The young women that run the hotel are so nice and helpful....they are a wealth of information! We truly enjoyed our stay at the Boutique Raco! Thank you!!!

Booked this hotel based on tripadvisor reviews. The hotel and staff are excellent. We were not concerned about "residential" location because we enjoy using subways.. Only problem with our stay; the Metro A Line was closed for renovations. Had to use cabs, readily available (and inexpensive for our group of four) for our trips, until we figured out the local bus numbers and schedule.

The Metro will be back in operation as of March 1st (estimated??). I could recommend this hotel without reservation, if the Metro (5 minute walk) was up and running.

Another tip: Consider the"closed door" restaurants; we had an excellent meal (and fun) at Collectivo Felix.

We are an older couple who have traveled extensively. Boutique to us has always meant something more. The personal touch is definitely there at Boutique Raco, but lots of little details were lacking. Beautiful rooms, although not always functional (you have to be very skinny to get into showers in some of the baths). Although we had a bad experience the first night with an uncomfortable bed, the Boutique graciously moved us to another room for the second night and the bed was wonderful. We probably had inadvertently gotten the only bad bed in the place and it was only bad on one side! Lovely renovation and ample breakfasts (the food kept coming the first morning until we said ENOUGH, we don't eat that much!) along with fantastic service from the staff.

The main problem was two-fold: amenities were available, but we were not told about them up front. On checking out we found out we could have asked for a hair dryer, a safe, tissues, etc. No washcloths was another surprise and one handcloth. Again, when we asked, we were given two hand towels. Most Americans are used to these things being in the room.

Second problem was location as most of what we wanted to do and see was in another part of town, but we loved Las Violetas and Pizzeria Tunin (manager spoke some English and custom made our pizza and salad to order and it was DELICIOUS!) Touristy shopping mall was nearby which was fun to wander through with separate stalls for goods.

All in all, as long as you know what to ask for up front, you will have a great experience! Staff goes overboard to help you, especially Natalia and Virginia, and courtyard is lovely place to eat breakfast, if you so desire. Also, ground floor is not basement in Argentina, so be very careful with wording. Ceilings are very high (a plus) but that means stairs are also very many between the ground floor and the second floor. If you eat downstairs in the basement, there are more stairs to get there, but a large and lovely room when you get there. Definitely not for the movement challenged!

Room Tip: Upstairs rooms feature antiques which may not be very functional for some with little flat space to put things on; downstairs rooms have cubbies built in which are very functional but then you miss the antiques, or most of them. Upstairs rooms have bigger baths; downstairs are very tight in space for baths. All had up to date facilities.

Dear guest,

We really appreciate you took the time to post a review.
We would like to make a few remarks on your comments:

As regards the beds, we have got new, high quality mattresses in all of our rooms, as well as pillows, cushions, and sheets, in order to ensure your comfort.
We later found that a kind of cloth had been stuck under one side of the mattress, therefore, creating an uneven surface, which was probably what caused discomfort.

Concerning location, the Hotel is strategically situated in the geographical center of the city as a great starting point to all neighborhoods and main sights. An antique house, built in 1904, Racó de Buenos Aires is nestled in a calm and safe residential area, situated only 3 blocks from the metro and a 15 min taxi ride to any of the interesting spots.
You may find restaurants, bars, and a large commercial area in the surroundings, the Basilica of San Carlos Borromeo, as well as parks, fairs, and access to several bus lines.

We stayed at Boutique Raco for three nights. The building and the suite are very beautiful. The ceiling of the suite, which is more than 4 meters high, was impressive. The staff was friendly and helpful.

The hotel is located a bit away from the city center, Palermo and Recoleta. However, the Subte line A is really close to the hotel and it's quite convinient to move around the city by taxi.

I'd recommend to take euros or usd with you because you can't pay with a card and exchange rates.
