the hotel was nice enough, but did not have some of the amenities you normally expect to have in a room such as a mini refrigerator or microwave. The water in the shower sprayed all over the bathroom. The website says there is breakfast but we never saw any and were never offered any. Also the street smelled foul, but the longer we were in the city we realized most of the city smelled bad.... one of the front desk people was very snooty with us. all in all mediocre.

Dear guest,
We would like to reply to some of the comments you made on our hotel.

As regards amenities, each room is equipped with air conditioning and heating, LCD TV, desk, high quality mattresses and sheets, hair dryer, towels, etc. Certain rooms do include mini bar and, even if others don’t, we may store anything you want in another fridge; guests just have to request it. Concerning microwaves, there is also one at everyone’s disposal in a common area.

Another point worth mentioning is the fact that you will always get breakfast if you book directly with us, contacting us by e-mail or telephone. It is “à la carte”, meaning guests can order as they please. Our continental breakfast includes coffee, tea, chocolate and milk, orange juice, croissants, fruit salad, yogurth, cereals, toast, and sandwiches. If a guest requires any additional product, for instance, according to a special meal plan, it will be included at no extra cost. The reservations made through travel agencies, usually online, will not include breakfast.

We apologise if there was any sort of misunderstanding with our staff at the front desk. We always try to do our best to meet everyone’s expectations, and provide you with our best service, which is definitely our number one goal.

We stayed for 3 nights here in late November 2012. This is a wonderful hotel: classy, but friendly. All the staff members spoke wonderful english, and helped us get the most from our stay. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble. The "courtyard" is great place to relax, or have breakfast. The room was nicely decorated with some period furniture, but with a totally modern bathroom. The breakfast, included in the room rate, included a toasted ham and cheese sandwich, coffee, yoghurt, juice, fruit, toast and preserves.
If you arrive by taxi, it is not immediately obvious that you have arrived at the hotel, which does not have any major signs in front. Look for the street number, carefully. You cannot miss the beautiful double wooden door, however.
The hotel is in a quiet area, just a few minutes walk to the Castro Barras subway (Subte) station. On the subway, it takes only minutes to arrive at the Ave de Mayo, Plaza de Mayo and Florida street areas, where you can take in the sights. There are several local restaurants in the area near the hotel, serving traditional BBQ food or even Pizzas. Violetas is a classy, "must-visit" place for a coffee.
When we return to BA, we will definately stay at the Raco again.

We stayed at this hotel for a night and with sincere regret wish we could have stayed longer. Staff were lovely and so friendly. I am a big believer in first impressions and the staff without any difficulty achieved 5 stars in my eyes. Staff were so helpful, friendly and spoke English very well. The twin girls who help run the family own business, thank you very much for your friendly and exceptional service.

I don't want to double up in what everyone else has wrote but hotel is situated in a safe and central location. Close to subway station and work your way from there. Rooms clean and astonishing. Bed very comfortable and bed sheets were like silk. A definite choice for anyone who decides to stay!!

We liked it. The location is in a quieter neighborhood, so you get a different feel of BA. The subway is only a couple of blocks away.
The rooms are clean and simple.

Service: Pros English speaking staff and friendly.
Cons: don’t take their advice on travel do your own research, we kinda wasted the first few days because we did not get the right information.

Overall I would definitely stay there again.

great room with balcony overlooking a quiet street and a tasty, filling breakfast to start the day. My thanks to Julian, Victoria and Natalie for their help and advice finding restaurants, ordering cabs and making my stay an unforgettable experience.

Room Tip: Room overlooking the street was a great experience
