Sagardi is located very close to San Telmo's square. Nicely installed in an old building, it is geared to the Basque cuisine. Nicely restored and plainly, elegantly decorated inside, it offers a unique, warm ambiance and atmosphere. Sit in the front portion, either at the the large collective table or at the bar, to enjoy the fresh, amazing and delicious selection of cold or hot "pintxos", a Basque especiality, offered in traditional or out-of-the-ordinary flavors for US$ 2,50 each. Escort them with a shot of premium bottled or on tap beer or a shot of red, white or sparkling wine. The restaurant, in the back portion of the place, offers and extensive menu of basque plates.Open year round, from Monday thru Monday, Sagardi is the ideal place for a light substantial meal sometime in the day or for a nice, out-of-the-ordinary happy hour when night is coming.

We really loved this restaurant. We traveled to Spain years ago, and the tapas here were just as good. We've been seeking out authentic tapas for years and were excited to find them while wondering around San Telmo!

This spot has a great vibe, and is tastefully designed, sleek and modern. The space itself is open and inviting. I've visited several times and will continue to go back, though I've not had a proper meal at Sagardi, I've spent hours at the bar nibbling away at the local, contextualized tapas and sipping on their excellent and discerning wines.

I'd suggest hitting this up either before dinner or after dinner, simply because it's a perfect place to start an epic San Telmo evening or wind one down.

After our visit to the market in San Telmo on Sunday, we drank a bottle of their housewine with a few tapas. The wine and the food was excellent!!! Staff was friendly. I would recommend this place to everyone. But it is a bit expensive.
