The front of the hostel currently is covered with scaffolding. The main area has a really cool feel and is like a renovated warehouse type situation.
Our room was a fairly standard triple, however the toilet leaked out the back when flushed. We didn't notice this for ages because there was no water for hours after we checked in due to the tbuilding works.
We were woken up at about 7am because directly above our room someone was swinging a sledge hammer or similar into the roof and it was really loud. This went on most of the day on and off and could not have been slept through. On our second day we spoke to staff about the issue and told them it was dishonest not to advise people when they booked. They seemed fairly unsympathetic but eventually took off 60 pesos our bill. Which is not that much.

Due to the building works our window which would normally would provide ventilation was blocked off further up towards the roof due to the works. It's hard to describe but it made the room extremely hot when the door was closed.

The breakfast is very ordinary and the only food consists of rolls and some spreads. Probably the worst I've had at any hostel in Argentina. The wifi will also grind to a complete halt in the afternoons and evenings.

Staff told us the works were only taking two weeks, if that is true or not I am not sure. We only stayed two nights.

Hostel had a nice public area to drink or eat something. Staff was friendly and willing to help. However, our room (double, private bathroom) was not clean at all. Bathroom had fungus all over the place and even made a hole in the ceiling that leaked when it was raining. Breakfast was poor.

The hostel is basic but excellent value for money. Stayed there for 3 nights in a room with a private bathroom and it was rather cool. The staff is really helpfull and friendly, the location is 15 minutes walk to both center and puerto madero right in the heart of san telmo and the crowd was awsome.

On the down side the breakfast is too basic and the kitchen utensils were a bit weared down. However the cofee was great :)

Booked a double room with built in bathroom. The bedding was dirty with someone's hair. We asked for this to be changed but the hostel seemed perplexed as to where the problem was. The new bedding was slightly better but still had hair stuck on the sheets. This might be a laundromat problem. The bigger concern was with the bathroom. Understandably this is a hostel but the shower and toilet were spectacularly dirty. Clean from a quick glance but dirty on close inspection. I suspect this could be isolated or I have different standards about clean sheets and toilet. The staff were some of the best I have encountered; friendly, warm and utterly helpful. I would visit again just for the ambience and people who work there.

My travelling partner and I stayed at Puerto for 2 weeks while we were in Buenos Aires. It was our first stop on a 5 month trip around South America, and we couldn't have had a smoother start. Like all hostels we've found, it had one dodgy toilet. The service and hospitality were great, and have been, to this point, unmatched on our travels.

Highlights were:
The sweet breakfast breads (amazing)
Location - set in the middle of the rustic, authentic Buenos Aires neighborhood of San Telmo
Dining - great eateries for all budgets in walking distance
Music - always had feel good beats playing
Back garden - very Mediterranean patio, super relaxed and quite, best place to sit with friends or read

Great value! Thoroughly recommend.
