Stayed in puerto limon for three weeks and got to meet great people, guests and staff, in this lovely hostel. The staff is very helpful, and they speak English. I will recommend this hostel to anyone who is going to Buenos Aires. Thank you for an amazing time!

The perfect hostel for those looking to have a good time and experience Buenos Aires. The rooms are comfortable, the place is clean, the showers are always hot, and there's plenty of locker space for your things. The atrium and patio give the place a great open feel, and there's always seems to be a small gathering putting back a few beers at night. Considering how well this place is kept up and how good the location is, this hostel is a steal.

PS - This place is definitely lively, but if you came to BA to party rather than see this city this is not a good hostel for you. Millhouse seems to be the local party hostel.

A lovely, relaxed and friendly oasis of calm. Puerto Limon is excellent value considering you are in the centre of San Telmo, a few blocks south of the microcentre and right next to the San Telmo market. The owner is very laid back and helpful and his team are friendly and efficient and he offered us a small discount as we were staying for just under two weeks which, considering it was high season, was generous. The rooms are very clean and have air conditioning which is a god-send once summer hits. The breakfast is simple but nice - reasonable bread, good coffee, juice, jams, dulce de leche and is included in the price. The common areas are nicely decorated and distinctive. A sort of vintage theme which reflects the area as it is antique market central. There is a lovely patio area and they play really good but chilled music all day long. Laundry is pretty cheap for Argentina, 20 pesos for a big bag and returned same day. There is also free internet and good selection of reasonably priced and cold drinks - beer, juice, water. Great find. Kitchen isn´t as spotless as it could be but has everything you need in it and really only a small criticism. So glad we found this place in our first few hours in Buenos Aires.

the rooms are standard, they are cleand everyday as the bathrooms. The kitchen is okay. The bathrooms are good, there could be more showers but like always it works. The neighborhood is quiet alright even it doesn't seem so, i felt save and had a good time.

My friend and I stayed here for 4 nights in late May 2012. We found the hostel incredibly warm and really enjoyed meeting a bunch of fellow backpackers that we spent nights drinking with in the common room. We both weren't smokers and appreciated that most everyone went outside to smoke on the back patio (perhaps they changed their policy since previous reviews say it was really smokey). We stayed in the dorm room and it was pretty standard as far as dorm rooms go. Breakfast is pretty basic with coffee/tea, rolls/bread, dulce, jam, butter, etc. We never had a problem with the staff and actually found them really helpful. There's a kitchen for people to use and they didn't seem to have a problem with folks bringing in outside booze. The hostel is situated right in the San Telmo area which we loved for this really chill vibe and kind of artsy neighborhood. Not super convenient to the party areas in Palermo but you can always take a cab. If you stay here, you must go to La Carreteria for dinner...it's only a few blocks away and was one of the best meals we had in BA.

My boyfriend and I stayed at Puerto Limon for just over 2 weeks in February 2012 and in general, really enjoyed our stay.

The hostel is extremely well-run by Bruno and the rest of the team. Staff were on duty 24 hours a day, nothing was ever too much trouble and the staff were always smiling.

The hostel is in an excellent location in the San Telmo neighbourhood, just 3 blocks walk from Plaza Dorego and a 5 minute walk from the nearest Metro. The neighbourhood is safe to walk around - day and night - and there's an excellent array of grocery shops, bakeries, cafes, restaurants and bars within a couple of minutes walk.

We were lucky enough to stay in room 2, which I would particularly recommend to couples... It was one of the best rooms we stayed in on our whole South America trip. Large room with one double bed and a single bed... air con (much needed in BA in february) and a nice en-suite bathroom. The room and bathroom were cleaned daily too.

The hostel facilities are good. The kitchen was very well stocked with good cooking equipment and was always kept clean. There is an inside lounge area with tv and outside patio area.

We only had 2 negatives concerning this hostel...

1, the breakfast was poor. Just small bits of dry bread with butter and dulce de leche and jam. With diluted coffee and juice. We'd had much better breakfasts in other hostels that we stayed in in Argentina.

2, the laid back attitude to allowing smoking anywhere in the hostel. Apart from the kitchen, smoking was allowed everywhere in the hostel... Including the inside communal areas such as the seating area for eating. For us as non-smokers, this became intolerable, as we felt that we couldn't escape the clouds of cigarette smoke. For us, this became a massive let-down for the Hostel.

In general...I'd recommend this hostel for it's location and service. However I would suggest non-smokers steer clear!

Hi Laura,

Thank you for placing your review.

I am pleased to advise that just since May 31 (World No Tobacco Day) It`s not alowed to smoke inside the hostel, only at the patio.

Thank you once again and we look forward to welcoming you back in the future.

Regards,
Gabriel

I was there in July and didnt like it !!!!!
I was expecting a very relax place and welcoming but the owner didnt even bother to say Hello !!! in the morning and after midnight they switch off the lights and left us in the complete dark !!!!!
Also the breakfast was very basic ..... bread and jam !!!!
Where is the Che .... Boludo vibe ???? If you want a real taste of Argentina go somewhere else !!!!! There is plenty of other hostel more friendly in BA ......
