The service is exceptional - staff always helpful and friendly. We used their knowledge to book tours, shows, restaurants etc. and their advice was spot on. We had 3 lovely meals at local (almost no english spoken) restaurants within 1 - 2 blocks. Only downside - my elderly mother wanted a kettle in the room so she could make her tea. And those bikes are great. You get nice comments from people on the street and it's the best way to see the city. (Off topic: bikes are allowed to run red lights so long as they give way first. Fabulous!

Room Tip: There are only 2 rooms on each level. Our inside or back room had no view but on the plus side it wa...

Comfortable beds (so important after such a long trip) with wonderful shower. Had a jacuzzi tub in the room (never used) and windows that opened (so nice to have fresh air). Lovely greenery growing over the windows for shade. Had a street side room but never heard any significant noise.
Breakfast was okay. Nothing special but it can be served in your room.
Staff were accommodating but things move slowly at the front desk.
Location convenient for walking and transport but generally hotel in an uninteresting location.
Would stay again but prefer Soho.

Hotel is quite modern, we got a room with jacuzzi in the room, great if you are a couple!
We also had private sauna..
Location is convenient, you are quite central and you can walk to many of the attractions.

The TA reviews didn't lead us astray. The location is fabulous, the staff is welcoming, the rooms (we opted for the superior category) are bright, clean and quiet (but with windows that open). Hard to believe that one is only steps away from the centre. Breakfast is a bit of a challenge for the staff and the guests because of the tiny space available but the food and coffee are excellent. The greenery in the lobby contributes to the calm that the hotel promises (as do the plants outside the windows). They do everything to make their guests feel welcome, including storing luggage for later trips to the airport and we were lucky they had the room for a short-notice extension of our stay. Insider tip: those beautiful bamboo bicycles in the lobby aren't just for decoration. They are for the use of the guests who have the foresight (and daring) to reserve them. They provided us two amazing days of rediscovering Buenos Aires "up close".

Room Tip: Go for the superior rooms, which are at the back and quieter.

We spent 2 + 3 nights at Casa Calma and can highly recommend.

The location is very central, the rooms were lovely, beds comfortable, great shower heads too :) breakfast very good- bread, sweet pastry, cheese, ham, cereal, fruit, yogurts, fresh juice, eggs/omelettes (cooked on demand so fresh). Breakfast in bed for no extra charge was a welcome bonus.

This all made the stay very pleasant, but what really stood out was the service- all the staff (reception, breakfast waitress, housekeeping) were five star, helpful, attentive, courteous, knowledgeable and with a smile (even at 3am!) They helped us with numerous bookings, suggestions and organisation of our days in BA, as well as with our trips outside the capital; within minutes sorted out our miscommunication with a travel agent in Patagonia; and when we unsuccessfully tried to brew the local tea- mate in their self-service kitchen, one of them promptly came to explain all about the story behind it and its complicated preparation ...every question was answered, every request attended to.

We enjoyed our stay and if we ever return to Buenos Aires, this will be the place to stay again.

Room Tip: Rooms 802 and 801, both great rooms

Casa calma is a boutique hotel in Buenos Aires between city center and recoleta section. It`s location is great, 15 minutes walk from the centr of town (Ave. De Mayo, 4 blocks away from the Florida shopping street and 10 minutes walk from Recoleta. If you are there type to be using The hop-on hop-off bus Thank you can find one of their stations next to San Martin plaza which is just around the corner.
This is an 18 rooms hotel with very modern design and almost personal service which gives you The feeling of home. The rooms are very large as are the shower and the bathroom. For those who wish so, breakfast can be served in the room although we did have it in there small breakfast area next to them lobby and it was ok. The variety of servings is much better than the continental breakfast served in Europe or the cold breakfast in American chains.
Service is excellent. They speak English and work to accommodate all wishes.
All in all great place to stay if you like these kind of small and homey hotels.

This boutique hotel definitely provides that personal touch and service that you often find lacking in big ones. Our room was generous and provided everything that we needed. The location was excellent and taxis between places are very reasonable. We felt 100% safe walking around this area and this city. Of course be extra careful and wary of pick pockets but aside from that we really enjoyed this hotel as much as we love Buenos Aires.

They were kind enough to even store our antique buys on their hotel which we picked up a week later after our Ushuaia and El Calafate tour. Highly recommend this place! No spa though they can recommend a masseus and their breakfast place is very cute and intimate but still provides enough choices to last you for the morning!
