I decided to try this tour based off of reviews from here, and wasn't disappointed. I first did the morning tour with Gaston, and liked it so much that I decided to do the evening tour the same day with Victoria. The morning tour goes more into the history and politics and the afternoon gets more into the culture. Both tour guides are excellent and know what they are talking about. They are friendly and able to provide the information in an interesting way.
I only have a couple of other comments. Although Gaston says that he will wait for people to take pictures and cross streets, he seems to continue on without noticing when group members get caught up. That being said, the pace is slow enough that as long as you don't lose sight of the group, you won't get lost. Victoria was much better about waiting for everyone, and I found that more relaxing as I didn't have to worry about hurrying to catch up. Some small tidbits in each tour were the same, but it was more for a contextual basis on what each specific group was talking about, so it was warranted and didn't feel repetitive. At the end of Gaston's tour he teaches how to talk with your hands which I found interesting, and helpful. After that, I began to notice everyone doing the same signs that he showed! Victoria tells some interesting stories about families that used to live in the magnificent palaces you'll see along the tour. The afternoon tour also is a little shorter in length and you don't walk as far, so keep that in mind.
Overall, both tours were excellent and well worth the time. And since you can tip what you want, you decide how much the tours were worth!
