“Chic, well-priced place to stay in the Palermo Hollywood District”
Reviewed January 19, 2011

We had two rooms at the Vitrum (one a suite) over New Year's. The room were large and modern, situated off a beautiful, sunlit atrium. The staff could not have been friendlier and more capable ... when we arrived and realized to our horror that we had left our passports in the cab, they immediately began making calls and within 20 minutes the cab was back. The breakfasts were in a stylish room at the back of the lobby and were fine. The neighborhood is very hip with lots of restaurants (we especially liked La Cabrera about two blocks away), but we were appropriately warned not to walk across the tracks to the Palermo Viejo neighborhood at night because of safety concerns. Cabs were available and inexpensive. The hotel is also about a 15-20 minute walk to the Palermo subway station. All in all, we were very pleased at finding a neat boutique hotel that also provided good value

Advertised as first class hotel - front desk was attentive and responsible - but service can only be called cheap. Fruits are abundant in the markets of Buenos Aires but they put out enough for about two people at the buffet. Had to beg the front desk and the maid to get more than one small piece of soap and refill shampoo. Spa services were hardly first class . "Fitness Facility" is a joke, a few pieces of obsolete equipment. Most worrisome, the construction seemed shoddy - I know they are putting up these boutique hotels as quickly as possible in the Palermo barrio, but the construction here (particularly in the stairwells where there were gaps in the concrete and wall board) was third rate - wouldnt want to be here in an earthquake.

I cant explain what I had to deal with this hotel. Really in one word I will say that it was terrible I dont recommend this hotel to anyone. My sister reserved the suite room to my Wedding night, she reserved like 3 months before. When we arrived nobody received us and 25 minutes later one recepcionist said that we couldn go t the one suite because the guest wont leave the room. We said everyting to them but they were very unflexible and the only solution was to transfer us to other Hotel.
So in my humble opinion, think at least 2 times before going this hotel, that for me is not a hotel, is something like... but very fare away.

Our stay at the Vitrum Hotel was fabulous. First rate boutique hotel with 16 all suites rooms. Rooms are very large, with couch and chairs in living area, king size comfortable bed, and large bathroom area. Included continental breakfast was good and they served until 10:30 AM. In room wifi worked nicely. The staff could not have been more helpful -- great recommendation for lunch [the Cafe at the Evita Museum]; booked our trip for us to Colonia, Uruguay; called taxis when needed; and recommendations for dinner at local restaurants within walking distance. The hotel is located in a very safe neighorhood. We didn't try the spa and hot tub on the top floor, but it looked very appealing. We also did not try the sushi bar restaurant at the hotel, but it always seemed quite busy at night.

Vitrum Hotel is in the Palermo section of Buenos Aires. The area was perfect for travelers, with many more great restaurants than we could have possibly tried in our 8 days there. The hotel has only 14 rooms, plus a spa on the top floor. The people at the front desk were always kind, courteous and very helpful. Our room was sweetly furnished in boutique hotel fashion, though not richly decked out, it was stylish, clean and comfortable. Our only complaint was that the maid never put new soap, shower cap, etc., even when throwing away the ones there. However, all we had to do was ask and we were given more. There is no doubt that we would stay there again.

Vitrum is what I define as a true boutique design hotel - rooms are very spacious, very comfy and veeery well decorated - all the hotel has great decor, really trendy and cool, from the lobby to the restaurant and the amazing rooms.
Room had all appliances you may need, all modern and top end. Great bed and shower, great linens and amenities (Loccitane).
Staff was helpful - had a problem with billing when checking out, which was solved.
Location is also good - at Palermo, near bars and restaurants, a quick walk away.
Would definetly recommend from anyone traveling to Buenos Aires.
